There are about 4010 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Argentina. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of cotadutide in participants with non-cirrhotic NASH with fibrosis.
Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Study of 2 agalsidase beta Formulations in Single Dose Administered to Healthy Volunteers as intravenous infusion, at a concentration of 1 mg/kg
The main aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of S-217622 versus placebo among outpatient adults with mild and moderate COVID-19 starting intervention within 3 days of symptom onset.
In COVID-19, pulmonary edema has been attributed to "cytokine storm". However, it is known that SARS-CoV-2 promotes angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 deficiency, it increases angiotensin II and this triggers volume overload. The current study is based on patients with COVID-19, tomographic evidence of pulmonary edema and volume overload. These patients received a standard goal-guided diuretic (furosemide) treatment: Negative Fluid Balance (NEGBAL) approach. This retrospective observational study consists of comparing two groups. The cases show patients with COVID-19 and lung injury treated with NEGBAL approach comparing it to the control group consisting of patients with COVID-19 and lung injury receiving standard treatment. Medical records of 120 critically ill patients (60 in NEGBAL group and 60 in control group) were reviewed: demographic, clinical, laboratory, blood gas and chest tomography (CT) before and during NEGBAL. Once NEGBAL strategy started, different aspects were evaluated: clinical, gasometric and biochemical evolution until the 8th day, tomography until the 12th day, ICU stay, hospital stay and morbidity and mortality until the 30th day.
Migraine is a common primary headache with documented impacts on the patient, the economy, and society. A growing number of studies have reported that people with migraines are more likely to experience neck pain and neck dysfunction. The coexistence of migraine and neck pain is also associated with a higher frequency of migraine attacks, greater susceptibility to certification. It has been reported that they present decreased cervical mobility, as well as decreased strength, resistance, and coordination of the cervical musculature of the skull. The objective of this study is to evaluate the possible clinical effects in migraineurs of supervised craniocervical and axioscapular exercises versus home-based exercises.
Summary Introduction: Falls are involuntary events that cause loss of balance and hit the body on the ground or on another firm surface that stops it. 40% of people with various neurological disorders fall one or more times, and of all these, 21% suffer a fall-related injury. Objective and instrumented gait analysis is an important tool for estimating the risk of falls in patients. Objective: To describe the protocols used by physical therapist residing in Argentina when categorizing a balance problem within the framework of neurorehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, geriatrics and gerontology. Identify the barriers and facilitators self-perceived by physical therapist that make it difficult to weight deficiencies in balance. Method: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study of the online survey type will be carried out. The recommendations given by the Checklist for Reporting of Survey Studies will be used. The survey, which was created by the researchers of this study, will consist of 26 items divided into 4 sections. It will be aimed at all those physical therapist in Argentina who are dedicated to neurorehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, geriatrics and gerontology. The type of sampling used will be non-probabilistic by snowball, which will be done online through the SurveyMonkeyTM tool.
The reason for this study is to see if the study drug insulin efsitora alfa (LY3209590) is safe and effective in participants with Type 2 diabetes that have already been treated with basal insulin. The study consists of a 3-week screening/lead-in period, a 78-week treatment period and a 5-week safety follow-up period. The study will last up to 86 weeks.
The aim of this study will be to determine the effects of active tDCS on rotator cuff fatigue. This study will be a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled, cross-over clinical trial based on non-probabilistic sampling for convenience, comprising a sample of 20 active asymptomatic subjects of all genders and aged between 18 and 35 years old. Subjects will be recruited via social networks, WhatsApp and emails and must be currently engaged in moderate physical activity (assessed by the IPAQ questionnaire) and asymptomatic at the time of assessment. In addition, participants will be asked not to perform any type of strenuous exercise and do not drink alcoholic or caffeinated beverages during the time the work is performed. The study will consist of three sessions, with an interval of 72 hours between them.
Irritable bowel syndrome is a highly prevalent disorder and consumes many health resources. Its physiopathogenesis is multifactorial. Some of the factors involved have to do with the alteration of the intestinal microbiota, low-grade inflammation and the alteration of intestinal permeability. Specific tannins have been shown to have prebiotic effects and could be useful in treating this condition. This is an exploratory before-after study that aims to evaluate the effect of a chestnut and quebracho extract on the symptoms of IBS diarrhea predominant, serum cytokine levels, microbiota and intestinal permeability, as well as on metabolomics.
This study is open to adults with chronic kidney disease. People with and without type 2 diabetes can take part in this study. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called BI 690517 improves kidney function in people with chronic kidney disease when taken alone or in combination with a medicine called empagliflozin. In the first part of the study, participants take empagliflozin or placebo as tablets every day for 2 months. Placebo tablets look like empagliflozin tablets but do not contain any medicine. In the second part, participants are divided into several groups. Depending on the group, the participants then additionally take different doses of BI 690517 or placebo as tablets for 3.5 months. In this case, placebo tablets look like BI 690517 tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants are in the study for about 6 months. During this time, they visit the study site about 12 times. Where possible, about 4 of the 12 visits can be done at the participant's home instead of the study site. The trial staff may also contact the participants by phone or video call. Participants collect urine samples at home. These samples are then analysed to assess kidney function. At the end of the trial the results are compared between the different groups. The doctors also regularly check participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects.
