Midportion Achilles tendinopathy (MAT) is a common overuse injury of the lower extremity characterized by the presence of pain, restricted function and interruption of sport activities. Conservative management of MAT has been suggested as the first line of treatment. Actually, there are several exercise programs with beneficial effects on pain and function among which high load training stands out. However, this training modality is inherently difficult to implement in certain populations and pathological conditions due to their inability to tolerate this mechanical stress. In this sense, low load training with blood flow restriction (BFR-LLT) emerges as an effective option in producing hypertrophic adaptations with low intensities (30% 1RM). However, this training modality has not yet been studied in tendon pathology. The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential clinical effects of BFR-LLT in comparison with HLT in patients with chronic MAT.
Hemiparetic gait is one of the most common consequences after stroke. This impairment has a detrimental effects on the patients lies, limiting their social participation. Previous studies have shown that there is a direct relationship between triceps surae activation and gait speed in stroke patients, that is, higher triceps surae muscle activation are correspond to greater gait speed. Then, it can be hypothesized that therapies focused in strengthening the triceps surae also improves the patient gait. It has been shown that Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) can improve triceps surae activation when applied on healthy subjects. However, it has not been yet explored in chronic stroke patients. Therefore, the aim of this study is to assess whether a FES program over tibial nerve contributes to the rehabilitation of the gait in chronic hemiparetic stroke patients. This study present a prospective interventional design, based on non-probabilistic sampling for convenience, and comprising a total of 15 volunteers with ischemic stroke of both genders and aged between 18 and 70 years old. Volunteers will be recruited from hospitals and private rehabilitation centres, and must be currently engaged in a conventional rehabilitation program. The study will consist of twenty-four sessions, with a frequency of three sessions per week.

This study will evaluate the combination of a fixed dose pembrolizumab/vibostolimab co-formulation (MK-7684A) with etoposide/platinum chemotherapy followed by MK-7684A compared to the combination of atezolizumab with etoposide/platinum chemotherapy followed by atezolizumab in the first-line treatment of Extensive-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer (ES-SCLC). The primary hypothesis is, with respect to overall survival, MK-7684A in combination with the background therapy of etoposide/platinum followed by MK-7684A, is superior to atezolizumab in combination with the background therapy of etoposide/platinum followed by atezolizumab.

The present study is part of ORCHESTRA project, a three-year international research project aimed at tackling the coronavirus pandemic. ORCHESTRA provides an innovative approach to learn from the pandemic SARS-CoV-2 crisis, derive recommendations to further management of COVID-19 and be prepared for the possible future pandemic waves. The ORCHESTRA project aims to deliver sound scientific evidence for the prevention and treatment of the infections caused by SARS-CoV-2 assessing epidemiological, clinical, microbiological, and genotypic aspects of population, environment and socio-economic features. The project builds upon existing, and new largescale population cohorts in Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Romania, Netherlands, Luxemburg, and Slovakia) and non-European countries (India, Perú, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil and Gabon) including SARS-CoV-2 infected and non-infected individuals of all ages and conditions. The primary aim of ORCHESTRA is the creation of a new pan European cohort applying homogenous protocols for data collection, data sharing, sampling, and follow-up, which can rapidly advance the knowledge on the control and management of the COVID-19. ORCHESTRA will include SARS-CoV-2-negative individuals and thereby enable a prospective follow-up and an analysis of vaccination response. The cohort will involve four different populations: general population, COVID-19 patients, fragile individuals (children, elderly, transplanted, oncological, HIV infected, and those with Parkinson disease), and health-care workers. Each of these "perpetual" cohorts can answer different research questions and vaccine strategies. Within the ORCHESTRA project, the Work Package 4 (WP4) will focus on the cohort of fragile patients including pregnant women/new-born, children, patients with HIV infection, patients with autoimmune disease, solid organ transplant recipients, patients with oncological and hematological diseases, patients with cystic fibrosis, patients with Parkinson Disease and rheumatological diseases from from 14 countries (5 European and 9 non-European countries), with approximately 20000 subjects.
