Evaluating the Safety and Effectiveness of the Flex Robotic System for the Surgical Removal of Colorectal Lesions

This clinical trial assesses the safety and effectiveness of a new device called the Flex Robotic System in the surgical removal (resection) of colorectal lesions. When an area of abnormal tissue called a lesion is found in the colon or rectum, it is often not known if the lesion is cancerous or non-cancerous. Recommendation to remove the lesion may be made. Current methods of resection can be challenging and time-consuming. The Flex Robotic System is a new device that provides a stable working environment, better ability to grasp and cut lesions, and better tissue handling when performing a resection. The Flex Robotic system may be more effective at removing colorectal lesions than standard resection techniques.

Cesarean Neuro Linguistic Programming Comfort

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of NLP techniques on stoma compliance and quality of life in patients with stoma. The study will be conducted using a prospective randomized controlled single-blind clinical trial model. The research will consist of patients with temporary or permanent colostomy/ileostomy, who are hospitalized in Mersin City Training and Research Hospital. Research data will be obtained with demographic questionnaire, Adjustment Scale for Individuals with Ostomy and Stoma Quality of Life Scale. Analysis of the study data will be done through the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 package program. While evaluating the study data, frequencies (number, percentage) for categorical variables and descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) for numerical variables will be given. Statistical significance in the analyzes will be interpreted at the 0.05 level.

Colonoscopy Screening: Setting Epic Follow-up Times

Screening for colorectal cancer can reduce its incidence and mortality but is a complex, error-prone process. The value of screening with colonoscopy is in removing pre-cancerous polyps that increase one's risk for future cancer. Abnormal results are common, and failure to receive recommended follow-up undermines the benefits of screening, violates the trust that patients place in their providers, and increases medicolegal risk. This proposal seeks to ensure that the foundation of safety systems, the recommendations for the follow-up interval reflect current guideline recommendations and are accurately updated. Specifically, the investigators will implement and evaluate in a randomized trial a new colonoscopy result letter as part of usual care that automatically updates the recommended follow-up interval in the patient's health record compared to the current result letter format.

Interventions to Improve Bowel Cancer Screening Uptake in Ireland: a 2x2 Factorial Trial

High uptake is vital to population-based screening. BowelScreen (Irelands national organised population-based colorectal cancer screening programme) has not achieved recommended screening uptake targets. In Ireland sending the test kit in the screening invitation reminder may be an important strategy in targeting non-responders and would address a key difference between Ireland and other international screening programmes with higher uptake. In addition, few studies have focused on behavioural barriers to screening participation. Founded upon the MRC Guidelines for the Development of Complex Interventions, our systematic, theoretically-informed investigation of FIT screening participation has begun to identify behavioural antecedents to screening participation in Ireland. This study will implement a multilevel evidence-based, theoretically-informed intervention which includes the automatic inclusion of the test kit in the screening reminder, alone and in combination with an intervention to influence individuals' screening participation. This multilevel intervention will provide recommendations for the screening invitation delivery, potentially bringing the programme closer to recommended uptake targets (50%) and in the long-term influence reductions in bowel cancer incidence and mortality in Ireland.
