Filter by:This study will test the safety of a drug called SGN-BB228 in participants with melanoma and other solid tumors that are hard to treat or have spread through the body. It will also study the side effects of this drug. A side effect is anything a drug does to the body besides treating the disease. This study will have 3 parts. Parts A and B of the study will find out how much SGN-BB228 should be given to participants. Part C will use the information from Parts A and B to see if SGN-BB228 is safe and if it works to treat solid tumor cancers.
Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT) followed by total mesenteric excision (TME) and adjuvant chemotherapy was the standard of treatment for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) in the past two decades. The main obstacles for improving survival benefit of LARC was distant metastasis. Recently, total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) had been recommended as new preferred option for LARC. Induction chemotherapy with FOLFOXIRI followed by CRT or short-course radiotherapy followed by FOLFOX chemotherapy had improved survival benefit for LARC. Neoadjuvant immunotherapy had also been explored in pMMR patients with CRC. In the NICHE trial, neoadjuvant therapy with 2 dose of nivolumab and 1 dose of ipilimumab led to 29% of pathological response and 13% of pCR. Cadonilimab (AK104) was a PD-1/CTLA-4 bi-specific antibody. Here, we tried to explore the efficacy of Neoadjuvant Treatment With mFOLFOXIRI with or without Cadonilimab (AK104) Versus mFOLFOX6 in LARC.
This is a pilot study to see whether a combination of two investigational drugs that target the immune system can be given to people with colorectal cancer before surgically removing the tumor. This study is also being done to see what side effects this combination of drugs has and what effect they have on colorectal cancer. The two monoclonal antibodies are balstilimab, a programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitor, and botensilimab, a cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) inhibitor. This study has 3 cohorts. Participants in Cohort A will receive a total of 2 doses of balstilimab and a single dose of botensilimab, both given intravenously (IV), before surgery. Participants in Cohort B and C will receive a total of 4 doses of balstilimab and a single dose of botensilimab, both given intravenously (IV), before surgery. Participants in Cohort C must have dMMR/MSI-High colorectal cancer.
This study was conducted to examine the effect of the nurse navigation program (NNP) applied to patients with colorectal cancer on symptom management and psychosocial adjustment to the disease. The design type was determined as a randomized controlled experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group, with repeated measurements. For this purpose, individuals were divided into two groups as experimental (n=31) and control (n=31) groups. The study was carried out in Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital Oncology Clinic between July 2021 and February 2022, after the necessary permissions were obtained. While individualized colorectal cancer education, psycho-oncological counseling and telephone support services were provided to the individuals in the experimental group under the guidance of nurse within the scope of NNP, no intervention was applied to the control group. In the study, data were collected with three different data collection tools: "Information Form", "Nightingale Symptom Assessment Scale (N-SAS)", "Psychosocial Adjustment To Illness Scale (PAIS/PAIS-SR)". Data were collected before NNP (once in the first week after chemotherapy), during NNP (once in the second week after chemotherapy, once in the first week after the next chemotherapy), after NNP (once in the second week after the next chemotherapy). The duration of the interventions performed via the WhatsApp application varied between 45-60 minutes between individuals. The research was completed with a total of 60 individuals, 30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 22.0 program.
Emerging evidences have shown that gut microbiota have played roles in the modulation of chemotherapy agents for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Probiotics are gut microbiota beneficial to human body. However, little was known about the role of probiotics for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Lactobacillus rhamnosus TCELL-1 is a kind of probiotics which were isolated from the gut mucosa of healthy Taiwanese. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of Lactobacillus rhamnosus TCELL-1 upon staged III colorectal cancer patients receiving adjuvant chemotherapy.
It has been estimated that 19,000 Colorectal Cancers (CRC) could be prevented each year in France by changing individual risk behaviours (sedentary lifestyle, overweight, diet, alcohol). The cancer screening appears to be an opportune moment for health promotion and to inform about CRC risk factors. The PRECÔTION study proposes an innovative scheme based on informative, motivational and community-based approaches. The objectives are to take advantage of patients' visits for colonoscopy to raise awareness and initiate individual prevention actions according to their own risk in order to modify individual risk behaviour. Patients who come for a colonoscopy at the Centre Léon Bérard and who are negative (80% of cases) will benefit from an evaluation to identify their individual risk factors, determine their level of risk level for CRC and their motivation to change their behaviour. Participants with a low level of risk will receive remote support in physical activity and nutrition via digital media based on a motivational approach. Participants will be proposed a monthly collective physical activity session, which will allow them to interact with each other and develop a community approach. Participants with an intermediate level of risk will be offered a collective health education session, in addition to the the support offered to participants with a low level of risk. Participants with a high level of risk will receive, in addition to the the support offered to participants with an intermediate level of risk, an individual motivational coaching and a connected watch. A logbook will also be given to all participants to accompany them on the different tools, especially for monitoring their goals. The PRECÔTION study aims to evaluate these tools as innovative means of prevention before evaluate their effectiveness on a larger scale.
This study will collect biospecimens (including blood, tissue, and stool samples) and health information to create a database-a type of collection of information-for better understanding young onset colorectal cancer (YOCRC). The study will include both people with YOCRC and healthy people.

It is an energy substrate for cells such as intestinal mucosal cells and lymphocytes, a material for glutathione synthesis, and a potent antioxidant, which also increases heat shock protein expression. In stressful conditions, arginine is the primary fuel source for T cells and is required for nitric oxide synthesis; therefore, it helps maintain immune function. Omega 3; It plays a role in the treatment of inflammation and improves wound healing. In addition, EPA and DHA increase the immune response by improving lymphocyte function. RNA; They are essential for maturation, proliferation, and function in nearly all biochemical processes, in rapidly proliferating cells such as T cells. studies have shown that immunonutrition (IMN) formulas enriched with biologically active compounds may be more effective in reducing infection complications and shortening postoperative hospital stays. This study aimed to investigate the additional effects of perioperative compared with preoperative immunonutrition on anthropometric, nutritional, and biochemical parameters, complications, and the length of hospital stay in patients with colorectal cancer.
This study is to validate the safety and feasibility of ArtiSential (Articulating laparoscopic instrument) colorectal surgery and compare it with robotic surgery for patients with rectal cancer and rectosigmoid junction cancer.
This is a Phase 1/2a open-label, multicenter, dose escalation and dose expansion trial in which IMT-009 will be administered by the intravenous (IV) route to participants with solid tumors or lymphomas.
