Filter by:This is a Phase Ib/IIa, Open-label, Investigator-initiated Trail of SHR-1210 (an Anti-PD-1 Inhibitor) in combination with AIN457 for patients with late stage MSS CRC who failed second-line and above treatment. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and RD of SHR-1210 combination with AIN457 as a treatment of MSS CRC.
Using social media for health promotion is an innovative and emerging approach but remains relatively unexplored in cancer screening. Uptake of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening remains low and standard methods of reaching out are expensive with limited impact. The objective of this study is to conduct a cluster randomized controlled trial (RCT) to test the effectiveness of social media messages for CRC screening on screening intention (primary outcome). The results of this trial will be of interest to Cancer Care Ontario and are likely to be taken up by other screening programs looking for innovative and novel ways to increase screening participation. The study results will be easily translatable identifying the most compelling CRC screening messages while the approach can easily be translated to other cancer disease sites with screening programs.
Our aim will be to evaluate the efficacy of perioperative Duloxetine in decreasing acute postoperative pain after laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery and its role in reducing postoperative morphine requirements
1. Evaluate the diagnostic value of long noncoding RNA (CCAT1) expression by RT-PCR in peripheral blood in colorectal cancer patients versus normal healthy control personal. 2. Evaluate the clinical utility of detecting long noncoding RNA (CCAT1) expression in diagnosis of colorectal cancer patients & its relation to tumor staging. 3. Evaluate the clinical utility of detecting long noncoding RNA (CCAT1) expression in precancerous colorectal diseases. 4. Compare long noncoding RNA (CCAT1) expression with traditional marker; carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and Carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) in diagnosis of colorectal cancer.
Conventional laparoscopic surgery (CLS) for colorectal cancer has been demonstrated to be safe and feasible and present minimally invasive benefits including faster recovery, reduced postoperative pain and shorter hospital stay, also acquiring comparable oncologic outcomes with open surgery. To achieve further minimally invasive outcomes, SILS plus one port surgery was attempted by some surgeons. Preliminary results showed that SILS+1 could achieve better minimally invasive benefits than CLS while preserving oncologic feasibility. Till now, ERAS has been practiced in colorectal cancer surgery for approximately 20 years. Studies have proven that ERAS is safe and significantly improved the recovery course of patients during perioperative period, meanwhile, the expense could be greatly reduced. Based on ERAS studies protocols and SILS+1 trials, investigators tried to combine SILS+1 with ERAS, hopefully to provide patients with more safe, economic, feasible and rapid surgery and perioperative strategies.

Colorectal carcinoma with liver metastasis is one of the major problems bothering physicians worldwide. Bevacizumab combined with chemotherapy is the standard treatment recommended by several guidelines. Despite the high cost, a certain portion of patients couldn't benefit from this therapy. This study is aiming to find out the specific type of patients who would respond to bevacizumab by Radiomics approach, and evaluate the prediction value of this imaging model with clinical and genetic factors.
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancer in Hong Kong. In 2018, CRC accounted for 17.4%, 5,780 cases, of the total new cancers. CRC claimed 2,279 lives (15.8%) making it the second most deadly killer in the population. Since 2010, the Cancer Expert Working Group (CEWG) has recommended that asymptomatic average-risk individuals aged 50 to 75 years should consider one of the screening methods: fecal occult blood test (FOBT) every one to two years; OR flexible sigmoidoscopy every 5 years; OR colonoscopy every 10 years. However, it poses great challenges for large scale CRC screening using colonoscopy, such as bowel preparation difficulties, complications of procedure and poor compliance. ColoClear® is intended for use as an adjunctive screening test for the detection of colorectal neoplasia associated DNA markers and for the presence of occult hemoglobin in human stool. It has the potential of increasing the sensitivity of detecting CRC as compared to FOBT or faecal immunochemical test (FIT), which detects the presence of hemoglobin in stool alone. A positive result may indicate the presence of colorectal cancer or pre-malignant colorectal neoplasia. ColoClear® is not intended as a replacement for diagnostic colonoscopy. A positive result in ColoClear®, as with any screening test, should be followed by colonoscopy. ColoClear® is intended for colorectal cancer screening in average risk individuals: adults of either sex, 40 years or older, who are at high risk for colorectal cancer.
The MA-PPING is a multicenter prospective observational study that includes patients undergoing surgery for gastrointestinal cancer. The study aims to map the oral and gut microbiome of patients diagnosed with pancreatic, esophageal or colorectal cancer during their surgical patient journey from the moment of diagnosis until full recovery (three months after surgery).
