This study involves a partnership between UTHealth School of Public Health and the Texas 2-1-1 service, which is a helpline connecting low-income and minority callers with a number of needed services. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a prevention program in which a phone navigator intervention designed to connect 2-1-1 helpline callers to evidence-based screening and prevention services including mammography, Pap test screening, colorectal cancer screening, and HPV vaccination.
Screening programs have been associated with a substantial reduction in colorectal cancer (CRC) mortality through endoscopic resection of preneoplastic lesions and detection of early-stage invasive cancers. In March 2020, the World Health Organization declared as a pandemic the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by SARS-CoV-2. Since then, the SARS-CoV-2 have never stopped spreading, causing an unprecedented situation with highly restrictive considerations to be adopted by the majority of countries worldwide. Health-care facilities have been making an enormous effort to assist patients affected by COVID-19, while adopting measures to maintain a safe environment for patients and healthcare professionals. As a result, the usual workflow in endoscopy departments changed dramatically, leading to an increase in cancelled procedures, probably increasing the future burden of Colorectal Cancer due to delays in diagnosis.
111Indium-labelled IPN01087 (111In-IPN01087) is developed as a radioactive diagnostic imaging agent in patients with colorectal or pancreatic cancer. It is used with single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) for the identification of tumours that overexpress the neurotensin receptor-1 (NTSR1). The purpose of this study is to assess how well 111In-IPN01087 is tolerated and what the most suitable amount to be injected is to obtain good quality images. The study will also look at how 111In-IPN01087 is distributed throughout the body and what the optimal time for doing the scans will be after it has been given as a single intravenous injection.
The aim of this project is to assess the impact of a health literacy (HL) intervention combining HL and CRC screening training for general practitioners with a short brochure and video targeting eligible patients to increase CRC screening and other secondary outcomes in four underserved geographic areas in France. The investigators will use a two-arm randomized controlled cluster trial at 8 clusters (2 per area) primarily serving underserved populations across 4 geographic areas in France with 32 primary care physicians and 1024 patients recruited.
This is a first-in-human, Phase 1, open label, multicenter, multiple dose, dose escalation and dose expansion study intended to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and potential clinical benefit of PF-07209960, an anti-PD-1 targeting IL-15 fusion protein, in participants with selected locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors for whom no standard therapy is available, or would not be an appropriate option in the opinion of the participant and their treating physician, or participants who have refused standard therapy. The study contains 2 parts, single agent Dose Escalation (Part 1) to determine the recommended dose of PF-07209960, followed by Dose Expansion (Part 2) in selected tumor types at the recommended dose.
This study is open to adults with advanced bowel cancer (colorectal cancer) with a KRAS mutation. This is a study in people for whom previous treatment was not successful and surgery is not a treatment option. The purpose of this study is to find the highest dose of BI 1701963 that people with bowel cancer can tolerate when taken together with a medicine called irinotecan. The study also tests whether BI 1701963 in combination with irinotecan is able to make tumours shrink. BI 1701963 may help to turn off KRAS. Activating KRAS mutations make tumours grow. Irinotecan is a medicine to treat bowel cancer. Participants can stay in the study as long as they benefit from treatment and can tolerate it. During this time, participants take BI 1701963 as tablet once a day and get irinotecan as infusion every two weeks. The doctors regularly monitor the size of the tumour. The doctors also collect information on any health problems of the participants.
The purpose of this research study is to determine whether testing of stool for a panel of markers will enable us to detect polyps and cancer compared to standard testing.
Investigators propose a retrospective cohort study to examine the impact of radiation therapy on the global pelvic floor function of women who have completed the immediate surveillance period for colorectal cancer
Liver metastases (MTS) are the main cause of death for patients affected by colorectal carcinoma (CRC) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), thus representing the major unmet clinical need for these malignancies. Based on preliminary and published data, the investigators hypothesize that innovative immune, gene and cell therapy approaches might overcome the tolerogenic liver microenvironment and represent powerful therapeutic tools for liver MTS of PDAC and CRC. The investigators have therefore planned an observational clinical study to enroll distinct cohorts of patients (i.e., metastatic CRC, metastatic and non-metastatic PDAC) and finely characterize, through integrated state-of-the-art -omics, the immune and non-immune microenvironment of their primary tumor and/or liver metastases as well as correlate changes in the activation status and phenotype of peripheral blood leukocytes. Healthy volunteers will be enrolled as negative controls. The investigators aim at identifying: i) actionable tumor associated antigens (TAAs) and local immune suppressive and regulatory pathways; ii) biological parameters for early diagnosis of relapse; iii) the effect of therapies on the shaping of anti-tumor immune responses. Data collected will be instrumental for the generation of novel advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). Indeed, this protocol is part of a multi-partner translational program, supported by the AIRC 5 per Mille 2019 grant, focused on the development, validation and implementation for clinical testing of ATMPs to ameliorate the cure of CRC and PDAC and possibly help the study of other solid tumors. Moreover, the systematic and long-term follow-up of enrolled patients will possibly point at early predictors of differential prognosis and patients' categories eligible for tailored therapies, including those with the novel ATMPs.
