Filter by:Patients who receive tailored navigation (consisting of a letter and patient navigation services) and get screened will be significantly greater than the control group who receives treatment as usual. A majority of patients will opt for Fecal Occult Blood Testing (FOBT)as one of their preferred tests, after undergoing the "Patient Navigator" intervention and that proportion will be significantly greater than the group who opt for FOBT in the control group.
This prospective, multi-center, observational study will assess the safety and efficacy of Avastin (bevacizumab) in daily practice in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who have received no previous treatment for advanced disease and are receiving Avastin in combination with a standard of care first-line chemotherapy regimen. Data will be collected for 1.5 years or until death.
The attendance rate to population based primary screening colonoscopy within NordICC trial (The Nordic-European Initiative on Colorectal Cancer, NCT00883792) in Poland is roughly 33%. The aim of this study is to compare the effect of two different time schedules for sending invitations and reminding letters to a pre-specified colonoscopy appointment. 1,600 screening naive men and women 55 to 64 years of age are randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive invitation and reminder 6 and 3 weeks (SIX and THREE group) or 4 and 2 weeks (FOUR and TWO group) prior to pre-specified screening colonoscopy appointment date. Outcome measures are participation in screening colonoscopy within 6 months from the date of invitation, response and acceptance rate before sending a reminder. The study is powered to detect 7% difference in participation in screening colonoscopy.
The purpose of this study is to to evaluate the correlation of overall objective response according to RECIST v1.1. criteria evaluated by conventional imaging techniques, morphologic response by CT, and histopathologic response in patients with resectable hepatic metastasis secondary to colorectal cancer treated with bevacizumab in combination with XELOX.
This randomized, open-label, two-way crossover study will evaluate the relative bioavailabilty and safety of capecitabine rapid disintegrating tablets (RDT) versus commercial Xeloda tablets in patients with colorectal or breast cancer. Patients will be randomized to a sequence of single oral doses of capecitabine RDT or Xeloda on Days 1 and 2 of a 14-day treatment cycle with Xeloda. Follow-up will be 30 days.
The goal of this study is to test patient education program for decision making about colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in community health centers.
Oral curcumin (complex C3, Sabinsa Corp, Utah) will be given to patients with inoperable colorectal metastases who will be commencing standard care oxaliplatin-based (FOLFOX) chemotherapy for up to 12 cycles(approximately 6 months) of treatment. Primary measurements focus on safety and tolerability. These will be recorded in real-time and report the number and severity of adverse events. Secondary measurements will include efficacy, (measured by response rate with RECIST and overall survival in months) supported by biomarker analysis.
This is a non-randomized, open-label, Phase II trial investigating axitinib as a single-agent maintenance therapy following standard first-line FOLFOX/bevacizumab therapy for patients with mCRC.
This is a prospective, multi-centered study to assess whether urine metabolomics can play a role in the screening of colorectal cancer (CRC). Urine samples will be collected from 1000 patients going through an established CRC screening program, and from a further 500 patients who already have a diagnosis of CRC. Using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, the 1H NMR spectrum of urine samples will be analyzed for specific metabolites, and establish the metabolomic signature of colorectal cancer. The results from metabolomic urinalysis of this screening cohort will be compared with results from colonoscopy, histological descriptions, fecal occult blood testing (FOBT), and fecal immune testing (FIT) to assess the accuracy of urine metabolomics in identifying patients with polyps and malignancies. The urine metabolomic results from the colorectal cancer group will be correlated with operative, histological and clinical staging to define the role of urine metabolomics in assessing colorectal cancer type, location and stage. Additionally approximately 300 urine samples from breast cancer patients and 300 from prostate cancer patients will be collected to validate that the colorectal cancer signature is unique.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate and quantify the dynamic modifications of tumor blood perfusion on axitinib therapy in patients with refractory mCRC for each dose of Axitinib.
