NCT ID: NCT04239976 Completed - Malignant Neoplasm Clinical Trials

Scrambler Therapy for the Reduction of Chemotherapy-Induced Neuropathic Pain

Start date: April 4, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This trial studies how well scrambler therapy works in reducing chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain in patients with cancer. Scrambler therapy is a type of treatment that uses electrodes placed on the skin. Electricity is carried from the electrodes through the skin and blocks the pain.

NCT ID: NCT04237194 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy

A New Diagnostic Method to Assess Paclitaxel-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

PacTox
Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To assess the impact of Paclitaxel treatment on the nerve excitability of the small and large nerve fibers

NCT ID: NCT04230863 Completed - Cancer Survivors Clinical Trials

Neuroplasticity-Based Cognitive Remediation for Chemotherapy-Related Cognitive Impairment

Start date: February 17, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators propose to apply neuroplasticity-based computerized cognitive remediation (nCCR) to treat chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment (CRCI).

NCT ID: NCT04207437 Recruiting - Cancer Clinical Trials

Daily Hand-Held Vibration Therapy

Start date: December 6, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this pilot study is to determine the safety and feasibility of a daily 3-minute hand-held vibration therapy intervention to reduce the severity of CIPN in the hands. The investigators hypothesize that daily vibration therapy can reduce the severity of patient's CIPN in their hands and improve CIPN-related quality of life. The hope is that results from this study will provide early data on the feasibility, efficacy, and most importantly, safety, of daily 3-minute hand-held vibration therapy needed to justify future clinical trials examining vibration therapy as a potential option for treating CIPN in the future.

NCT ID: NCT04205071 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

Lorcaserin in Treating Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Patients With Stage I-IV Gastrointestinal or Breast Cancer

Start date: November 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This phase I trial studies how well lorcaserin works in treating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with stage I-IV gastrointestinal or breast cancer. Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy is a nerve problem that causes pain, numbness, tingling, swelling, or muscle weakness in different parts of the body. This condition can occur in patients who have received taxane chemotherapy drugs, or the chemotherapy drug oxaliplatin. Lorcaserin may improve chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy by reducing pain, preventing or relieving joint symptoms, and improving balance.

NCT ID: NCT04201769 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Chemotherapy-induced Nausea and Vomiting

Dexamethasone-sparing Approach Including NEPA Against Emesis Caused by Cisplatin

LUNG-NEPA
Start date: November 25, 2016
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates the possibility to reduce the total dose of dexamethasone, when administered with NEPA, to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) patients receiving a cisplatin-based chemotherapy

NCT ID: NCT04201587 Completed - Clinical trials for Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy

The Preliminary Effects of Henna on CIPN

Start date: May 28, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is one of the most common long-term toxicities of chemotherapy. Though, CIPN is one of the common symptoms encountered by oncology nurses in care of patients. For this reason, there is a need for an intervention that could decrease or prevent of CIPN.

NCT ID: NCT04201561 Active, not recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

High Dose Inorganic Selenium for Preventing Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

SELENIUM
Start date: December 24, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of high dose inorganic selenium in preventing and relieving chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian, fallopian, or primary peritoneal cancer patients. This study will be conducted as a phase III randomized controlled trial in platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian, fallopian, or primary peritoneal cancer patients who are expected to undergo paclitaxel-carboplatin chemotherapy. A total of 68 patients need to be enrolled in this study. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the frequency of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. The secondary objectives are the evaluation of the severity of peripheral neuropathy and the quality of life to show that selenium is effective in preventing and relieving peripheral neuropathy induced by paclitaxel. Positive results in this study will lead to further studies investigating the effect of selenium on other chemotherapies that can induce peripheral neuropathy.

NCT ID: NCT04188860 Completed - Immunotherapy Clinical Trials

Immunotherapy for Recurrent Cervical Cancer Refractory to Platinum-based Chemotherapy

Start date: December 6, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

For recurrent or persistent advanced cervical cancer patients, the first-line chemotherapy was based on platinum. However, if they were refractory to platinum-based chemotherapy, there were no other more effective medications or treatment. The marketing of anti-PD-1 antibody has provided an opportunity of curative management. This single arm, open, phase II trial would recruit 34 eligible patients. A combination of anti-PD-1 antibody camrelizumab and albumin-bound paclitaxel would be given for first 9 patients. If at least total 2 patients achieved complete or partial remission, or at least total 6 patients achieved complete or partial remission or stable disease, the same regimen would be given for rest patients. The primary end is overall response rate (ORR). The second ends include progression-free survival, overall survival, disease control rate, remission duration, and adverse events. A molecular testing, mainly consisting of genomic analysis, will be carried in the oncologic tissues.

NCT ID: NCT04188847 Completed - Chemotherapy Clinical Trials

First-line Chemotherapy for Recurrent Cervical Cancer

Start date: December 6, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The response rate of traditional first-line chemotherapy for recurrent or persistent advanced cervical cancer was low. This single arm, open, phase II trial would recruit 37 eligible patients. A combination of cisplatin, paclitaxel and apatinib would be given for first 23 patients. If at least 13 patients achieved complete or partial remission, the same regimen would be given for rest patients. The primary end is overall response rate (ORR). The second ends include progression-free survival, overall survival, disease control rate, remission duration, and adverse events. A molecular testing, mainly consisting of genomic analysis, will be carried in the oncologic tissues.
