NCT ID: NCT06307561 Completed - Secondary Dystonia Clinical Trials

The Effect of Dystonia Severity on Participation in Daily Living Activities and Caregivers in Children of Cerebral Palsy With Secondary Dystonia

Start date: January 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Dystonia is the most common movement disorder in the pediatric population after spasticity. It can affect normal motor development and cause significant motor retardation. The presence of dystonia may affect motor function, pain, and ease of care in CP. Additionally, it can cause serious difficulties in daily living activities and social participation and long-term joint deformity. The increase in the severity of dystonia in CP children with secondary dystonia may affect the quality of life, activity and participation of the children, as well as the caregiver. The importance of caregivers is an undeniable fact, especially in these patient groups. This study aims to investigate the burden of dystonia severity on the participation in daily living activities and caregivers of children with CP with secondary dystonia.

NCT ID: NCT05768568 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cerebral Palsy, Mixed

Comparison of Plaque Removal Efficacy of Powered and Manual Toothbrush Among Children With Cerebral Palsy

Start date: April 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

CHildren of Cerebral Palsy(CP) are at high risk of developing dental diseases most commonly periodontitis and caries. Neuromuscular and psychological impact makes it difficult for the CP child to clean dental plaque from the surface of the teeth.inability to perform coordinated movements too makes brushing very difficult and hence it worsens the oral hygiene status. Hence the objective of the study is to assess plaque removal efficacy of powered toothbrush versus manual toothbrush evaluated by improvement in oral hygiene status of patients with Cerebral Palsy CP children who meet inclusion exclusion criteria will be assessed at different time intervals via Oral hygiene index simplified (OHI-S), plaque index (PI) and gingival index (GI) Scores will be compared and analyzed from baseline, after first phase and after second phase of interventions.

NCT ID: NCT03744884 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cerebral Palsy, Spastic

Movement Characterization in Spastic/Dystonic Cerebral Palsy Using Haptic Feedback in Virtual Reality

Start date: December 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This game-like intervention using virtual reality will provide an objective and quantitative characterization of dystonia and spasticity presentations in cerebral palsy, even if combined, through the process of motor learning. This intervention could have a therapeutic benefit in the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy.

NCT ID: NCT03668548 Enrolling by invitation - Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials

10-week Leucine Supplementation in Cerebral Palsy

Start date: August 20, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of 10-weeks leucine supplementation on muscle growth, metabolism, body composition, inflammation and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults with CP.
