Carotid With Bivalirudin Angioplasty

COBRA
Start date: August 2003
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Single center randomized clinical trial, to evaluate the safety and efficacy of carotid artery stenting using the RX ACCULINK™ Carotid Stent System with RX ACCUNET™ Embolic Protection System or PercuSurge GuardWire® 3-6 Temporary Occlusion and Aspiration System using Angiomax (bivalirudin)versus heparin as the anticoagulant for treatment of occlusive carotid artery disease in low and high risk patient cohorts.

NCT ID: NCT00798512 Completed - Clinical trials for Carotid Artery Disease

Diffusion Weighted-MRI Based Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Endovascular Clamping During Carotid Artery Stenting With the Mo.Ma Device.

DESERVE
Start date: February 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to detect new ischemic lesions after carotid artery stenting (with the Cristallo Ideale stent), in patients with high grade carotid artery stenosis, by diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI), using the endovascular proximal flow blockage (Mo.Ma device) for cerebral protection.

NCT ID: NCT00744523 Completed - Clinical trials for Carotid Artery Disease

Proximal Protection With The Mo.Ma Device During Carotid Stenting

ARMOUR
Start date: September 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of the ARMOUR study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Mo.Ma proximal flow blockage cerebral protection device for patients at high surgical risk for carotid endarterectomy who undergo carotid artery stenting

NCT ID: NCT00741091 Completed - Clinical trials for Carotid Artery Disease

A Carotid Stenting Boston Scientific Surveillance Program

CABANA
Start date: December 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

CABANA is a multicenter U.S. surveillance registry that will be conducted to compile early clinical outcomes data for the Carotid WALLSTENT Endoprosthesis and FilterWire EZ System in routine clinical practice and to assess the adequacy of the Boston Scientific Corporation (BSC) Carotid Stenting Training Program.

NCT ID: NCT00619775 Completed - Clinical trials for Carotid Artery Disease

Carotid Revascularization With ev3 Arterial Technology Evolution (CREATE) Trial

CREATE
Start date: April 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Protege Stent and Spider Device in the treatment of common and/or internal carotid artery stenoses for subjects that are high risk for carotid endarterectomy.

NCT ID: NCT00597974 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

Neurological Outcome With Carotid Artery Stenting

CAS
Start date: September 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to determine how well patients undergoing carotid artery angioplasty and/or stent-supported angioplasty for the treatment of carotid artery stenosis will perform on a battery of tests to assess brain function before and after the procedure. This study will serve as a pilot project: (a) to determine incidence of neurologic/neuropsychometric change in patients undergoing carotid artery angioplasty and/or stent-supported angioplasty, and (b) to ascertain the time it takes for these changes to resolve.

NCT ID: NCT00597883 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

Neuropsychometric Outcome After Carotid Endarterectomy

CEA
Start date: March 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to determine how well patients undergoing carotid endarterectomy will perform on a battery of tests to assess brain function before and after surgery as compared to a control group of patients undergoing spine surgery. This study will serve to: (a) determine incidence of neurologic/neuropsychometric change in patients undergoing carotid artery surgery, and (b) to ascertain the time it takes for these changes to resolve.

NCT ID: NCT00587717 Completed - Clinical trials for Carotid Artery Disease

The Acute Effect of Statins on Inflammatory Markers of Athersclerotic Tissue

Start date: September 2002
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is being done to determine if the acute administration of the drug Simvastatin reduces plaque tissue inflammation and plaque instability in patients undergoing carotid endarectomy

NCT ID: NCT00530504 Completed - Clinical trials for Carotid Artery Disease

Carotid Revascularization With ev3 Arterial Technology Evolution Post Approval Study

CREATE PAS
Start date: May 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purposes of this study are: 1. To provide additional safety and effectiveness information on the commercial use of Protégé™ GPS™ and Protégé™ RX Carotid Stent Systems and the SpiderFX™ Embolic Protection Device. 2. To evaluate rare and unanticipated adverse events. 3. To evaluate the physician level of experience with carotid artery stenting procedures with adverse event rates.

NCT ID: NCT00406055 Completed - Clinical trials for Carotid Artery Disease

CHOICE: Carotid Stenting For High Surgical-Risk Patients

Start date: October 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Observational

The purposes of this study is to 1) Provide additional information that the commercially available Abbott Vascular Carotid Stent Systems and Embolic Protection Systems can be used successfully by a wide range of physicians under commercial use conditions. 2) Provide an ongoing post-market surveillance mechanism for documentation of clinical outcomes and for possible extension of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) coverage to a broader group of patients.
