NCT ID: NCT00107536 Completed - Clinical trials for Advanced Adult Primary Liver Cancer

Lapatinib Ditosylate in Treating Patients With Unresectable Liver or Biliary Tract Cancer

Start date: October 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Lapatinib ditosylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. This phase II trial is studying how well lapatinib ditosylate works in treating patients with unresectable liver or biliary tract cancer

NCT ID: NCT00105443 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Hepatocellular

A Phase III Study of Sorafenib in Patients With Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma

SHARP
Start date: March 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is: Find out if patients receiving sorafenib will live longer. Find out if sorafenib has any effect on patient reported outcomes. Find out if sorafenib prevents the growth of or shrinks liver tumors and/or their metastases. Determine the pharmacokinetics (PK) in patients with liver cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00101036 Completed - Clinical trials for Advanced Adult Primary Liver Cancer

Lapatinib in Treating Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Biliary Tract or Liver Cancer That Cannot Be Removed By Surgery

Start date: November 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial is studying how well lapatinib works in treating patients with locally advanced or metastatic biliary tract or liver cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Lapatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

NCT ID: NCT00096733 Completed - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Adult-to-Adult Living Donor Liver Transplantation Study

A2ALL-1
Start date: October 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

There are two principal purposes of this study: 1) to determine whether it is more beneficial for a liver transplant recipient candidate to pursue a living donor liver transplant (LDLT) or wait for a deceased donor liver transplant (DDLT), and 2) to study the impact of liver donation on the donor's health and quality of life.

NCT ID: NCT00091182 Completed - Clinical trials for Recurrent Rectal Cancer

Oxaliplatin in Treating Young Patients With Recurrent Solid Tumors That Have Not Responded to Previous Treatment

Start date: October 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial is studying how well oxaliplatin works in treating young patients with recurrent solid tumors that have not responded to previous treatment. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as oxaliplatin, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.

NCT ID: NCT00083226 Completed - Clinical trials for Advanced Adult Primary Liver Cancer

Doxorubicin and Bortezomib in Treating Patients With Liver Cancer

Start date: March 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial is studying how well giving doxorubicin together with bortezomib works in treating patients with liver cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Bortezomib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. Giving doxorubicin together with bortezomib may kill more tumor cells.

NCT ID: NCT00082082 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Hepatocellular

A Trial of Thymalfasin in Adult Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this Phase II trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of 6 months of treatment with thymalfasin plus trans arterial chemoembolization (TACE) with TACE alone in adult patients with non-surgical hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

NCT ID: NCT00081094 Completed - Liver Cancer Clinical Trials

Positron Emission Tomography Using Carbon-11 Acetate and Fludeoxyglucose F 18 in Detecting Hepatocellular Carcinoma (Liver Cancer) in Patients With Known or Suspected Liver Cancer

Start date: September 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Imaging procedures, such as carbon-11 acetate positron emission tomography (PET) and fludeoxyglucose F 18 PET, may improve the ability to detect hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) and allow doctors to plan the most effective treatment. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well carbon-11 acetate PET and fludeoxyglucose F 18 PET work in detecting cancer in patients with liver cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00080236 Completed - Clinical trials for Liver Transplantation

Safety and Efficacy Study of a Caspase Inhibitor in Patients Undergoing Liver Transplantation

Start date: November 2003
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to test the safety and effectiveness of IDN-6556 in preventing liver damage that normally occurs when livers are transported before being transplanted and in the immediate post-transplant period.

NCT ID: NCT00077441 Completed - Clinical trials for Advanced Adult Primary Liver Cancer

Bortezomib in Treating Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma (Liver Cancer)

Start date: April 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial is studying how well bortezomib works in treating patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) that cannot be removed with surgery. Bortezomib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth.
