A Basic-clinical Translational Research in Hepatitis B Virus (HBV)-Specific Antigen Peptides and HepG2 Cell Lysate Co-activated Dendritic Cells Combined With Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) in HBV-related HCC Treatment (BTRHBVAPHCLCDCCTCHBVHCCT)

The effect of anti-tumor treatment is not satisfying in HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC) for reasons that HBV-HCC carries highly heterogeneous antigens to facilitate cancer cells escaping from immune surveillance and constructs an immunosuppressive microenvironment. Correspondingly, dendritic cells activated by HBV antigen peptides and HepG2 cell protein lysate can efficiently present T cells with antigens of HCC to sensitize their antitumor properties meanwhile cyclophosphamide(CY) can effectively improve the microenvironment of immunity. Therefore, we put forward a new scientific therapy called "Activated Dendritic-cells Combined Cyclophosphamide" (ADCC) combining with TACE for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma to prolong their survival time.

Evaluation of Diagnostic Efficiency of PIVKA-II and Other Tumor Markers in HCC

The incidence of Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is increasing worldwide. However, most of HCC cases were at advanced stage when the diagnosis established.Early diagnosis improves the prognosis.The study is intended to evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of Protein Induced by Vitamin K Absence or antagonist-II(PIVKA-II). This study is a international multicenter study joined by several hospitals in China,Singapore,Thailand and Vietnam. Participants including healthy control,HCC,metastatic liver cancer,Hepatitis B virus(HBV) and liver cirrhosis are consecutively recruited into the cohort. All the serum samples are collected before any treatments and will be tested in single center in order to decrease bias. Serum samples were tested for PIVKA-II,alpha-fetoprotein and biochemical indexes including alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT),alpha-l-fucosidase(AFU),etc.

Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in Predicting Treatment Response in Patients With Liver Cancer Receiving Transarterial Chemoembolization With Drug Eluting Beads

This pilot clinical trial compares the use of contrast-enhanced ultrasound to contrast-enhanced magnetic response imaging (MRI), the current clinical standard, in predicting treatment response in patients with liver cancer receiving transarterial chemoembolization with drug eluting beads. Comparing results of diagnostic procedures before and after transarterial chemoembolization may help doctors predict a patient's response to treatment and help plan the best treatment. It is not yet known if contrast-enhanced ultrasound works better than contrast-enhanced MRI in predicting treatment response in patients with liver cancer.

Sorafenib Plus Hepatic Arterial Infusion Versus Sorafenib for HCC With Major Portal Vein Tumor Thrombosis

According to the Barcelona clinic liver cancer (BCLC) staging treatment guideline, sorafenib is recommended for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) with Portal Vein Tumor Thrombosis (PVTT), but HCC with major PVTT (in the main trunk or 1st-order branches of the portal vein) did not benefit much from sorafenib in previous studies. There is no established standard treatment for HCC patients with major PVTT, the investigators conducted a randomized, phase 2 study to investigate the survival benefit of sorafenib plus Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) with Oxaliplatin and Fluorouracil versus sorafenib for Hepatocellular Carcinoma with Major Portal Vein Tumor Thrombosis.
