NCT ID: NCT06371469 Not yet recruiting - Health Behavior Clinical Trials

Program of Health Behaviour Against to Cancer (PHeBAC)

PHeBAC
Start date: April 20, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The European Code Against Cancer contains 12 recommendations to reduce the risk of cancer. It is estimated that about half of all cancers could be prevented if all recommendations are followed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Program of Health Behaviour Against Cancer (PHeBAC) applied to mothers of children with intellectual disabilities in increasing the participation of mothers and their children with intellectual disabilities in cancer screenings and their health behaviors against cancer. The goal is to improve the preventive health behaviors of children with intellectual disabilities and their mothers against cancer and to increase the rate of participation in cancer screenings. Specific targets are; not smoking and not being exposed to smoking, increasing physical activity, healthy nutrition, limiting alcohol consumption, protection from sunlight, HPV vaccination and increasing participation in breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings.

NCT ID: NCT06125886 Not yet recruiting - Cancer Screening Clinical Trials

Endometrial Cancer Screening in High-risk Populations

Start date: November 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Endometrial cancer is one of the most common malignancies of the reproductive system. The incidence of endometrial cancer has increased in recent years. No effective, low-cost screening method for populations at high risk exists. The traditional methods of endometrial cancer screening and diagnosis (segmented scraping and hysteroscopic biopsy) are invasive examinations with high medical costs. It is urgent to establish a reasonable, effective, economical, and non-invasive endometrial cancer screening strategy. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of transvaginal ultrasound and microscale endometrial sampling biopsy in screening for endometrial precancerous lesions and endometrial cancer among high-risk populations in China, and to conduct cost-effectiveness analysis of different screening strategy, ultimately guiding the development of screening strategies that are suitable for high-risk populations in China.

NCT ID: NCT04296630 Not yet recruiting - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Social Media for Colorectal Cancer Screening

Start date: August 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Using social media for health promotion is an innovative and emerging approach but remains relatively unexplored in cancer screening. Uptake of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening remains low and standard methods of reaching out are expensive with limited impact. The objective of this study is to conduct a cluster randomized controlled trial (RCT) to test the effectiveness of social media messages for CRC screening on screening intention (primary outcome). The results of this trial will be of interest to Cancer Care Ontario and are likely to be taken up by other screening programs looking for innovative and novel ways to increase screening participation. The study results will be easily translatable identifying the most compelling CRC screening messages while the approach can easily be translated to other cancer disease sites with screening programs.
