NCT ID: NCT01618292 Completed - Clinical trials for Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Cohort Study of Bowel Function Following Robotic-assisted Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy

Start date: January 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Compare changes in bowel function before, 6 months and one year after Robotic-assisted laparoscopic sacral colpopexy. Compare objective anatomic outcomes before, 6 months and one year after Robotic-assisted laparoscopic sacral colpopexy.

NCT ID: NCT01367574 Completed - Bowel Dysfunction Clinical Trials

Methylnaltrexone in Patients With Opioid-Induced Bowel Dysfunction

Start date: April 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a double-blind, randomized, parallel group, dose ranging study of subcutaneous methylnaltrexone to be conducted in patients with advanced medical illness and poorly controlled opioid induced constipation. Patients will be randomized to one of three fixed dose levels of SC MNTX.

NCT ID: NCT01312259 Recruiting - Sexual Dysfunction Clinical Trials

Clinical Efficacy of Changing the InterStim® Parameters in Patients With Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome

Start date: April 2011
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Purpose: 1. To demonstrate better symptoms control (pain, urinary urgency and frequency) with sacral neuromodulation (SNM) in patients with interstitial cystitis /painful bladder syndrome (IC/PBS) using a stimulation frequency of 40 hertz (experimental) compared to a frequency of 14 hertz (standard). 2. The evaluate the efficacy of the two frequency settings on the other associated conditions that often coexist in patients with IC/PBS, such as female sexual dysfunction (FSD), bowel dysfunction, high tone pelvic floor dysfunction (HTPFD, painful spasm of the pelvic floor muscles), Vulvodynia (pain at the opening of the vagina).

NCT ID: NCT00259922 Completed - Constipation Clinical Trials

Alvimopan For The Treatment Of Constipation Due To Opioids Being Taken For Persistent Non-Cancer Pain

Start date: August 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Adults who are taking opioid therapy for persistent non-cancer pain and have resulting opioid-induced bowel dysfunction (OBD) will be randomized (1:1:1) to one of 2 alvimopan arms, or to placebo. The primary objective of this phase 3 confirmatory study is to compare alvimopan with placebo for efficacy in the treatment of OBD. The primary efficacy endpoint is based on frequency of bowel movements. Subjects will be required to: (1) track their bowel movements and other bowel symptoms and (2) attend 6 clinic visits over 4 months.

Long-Term Safety Evaluation Of Treatment Of Constipation Due To Opioids Being Taken For Persistent Non-Cancer Pain

Start date: August 1, 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Adults who are taking opioid therapy for persistent non-cancer pain and have resulting opioid-induced bowel dysfunction (OBD) will be randomized (1:1) to alvimopan or placebo. The primary objective of this Phase 3 long-term safety study is to compare alvimopan with placebo for safety and tolerability in the treatment of OBD. Participants will be required to attend 8 clinic visits over approximately 1 year.

NCT ID: NCT00135577 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Study 767905/008 Extension Study: Alvimopan for Treatment of Opioid-Induced Bowel Dysfunction in Cancer Pain Subjects

Start date: September 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Study SB-767905/008 was a multicenter study to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of multiple dosage regimens of an investigational drug for the treatment of constipation due to prescription pain medication in participants with cancer pain. Study ABD101684 will serve as an extension to Study SB-767905/008 and offer continued access to blinded investigational product to participants who have completed the original study. The purpose of Study ABD101684 is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of alvimopan compared to placebo in subjects who completed Study SB-767905/008 and elected to participate in this extension study.
