NCT ID: NCT05820269 Completed - Clinical trials for Behavioral Disorders

Predictive Factors for the Outcome of Young Children Emotional and/or Behavioral Disorders After Psychotherapeutic Intervention

Start date: January 5, 2009
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Behavioral disorders and emotional disorders represent frequent reasons for consultation in young children. Their prevalence is between 7% and 13% depending on the studies. Behavioral disorders, and to a lesser extent emotional disorders, tend to persist through childhood and adolescence and are a risk factor for disorders in adulthood. There is still little research on psychotherapies concerning children and even less on parent(s)-young child therapies, despite a certain interest of clinicians for these. In a previous study, three independent factors appeared predictive of the unfavorable child's outcome : the frequency and intensity of behavioral problems and fears, as well as the absence of the father at more than 2/3 of the consultations. The only independent factor associated with the outcome of the mother was her anxiety score at the start of treatment. The study presented here will take these elements into account and will include an assessment of both parents. The main objective is to identify predictive factors of behavioural and emotional disorder outcome in children aged 18 months to 48 months after parent-child psychotherapy. The secondary objectives are to study predictive factors of the outcome in parents (anxiety/depression symptoms) and parent-child relationship. The main predictive factors will be the presence of the father at the consultations, the therapeutic alliance (subject to validation), the type of disorder of the child and the parental psychopathology.

NCT ID: NCT04846608 Completed - Clinical trials for Behavioral Disorders

Descriptive Study of Emergency Room Visits From Nursing Home Residents for Behavioral Problems at the Nancy University Hospital: Place of the Advanced Practice Nurse

Start date: April 14, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The demographic evolution of old age is a reality. After the age of 75, 2 out of 3 people living in institutions have neurocognitive disorders. Behavioural disorders such as physical aggression, agitation, hallucinations, sleep disorders, generate difficulties in the management of these patients and lead to unscheduled emergency hospitalizations. Non-pharmacological management of behavioral disorders is recommended as a first-line treatment because of its low risk and potential improvement (Haute Autorité de Santé 2009). However, this management is not simple and obvious to put in place, especially since not all elderly people with Behavioural disorders are in adapted structures. The advanced practice nurse specializing in geriatrics has a place in this care pathway. Because of her skills, she could "organize multi-professional care, set up analyses of practices within the nursing homes, train caregivers appropriately, and limit hospitalizations due to behavioral problems" (SALIEGE L. 2020). Advanced practice nursing is in its infancy in France, and everything remains to be done (International Council of Nurses- directive). The aim of the study is to identify the number of emergency room visits by people aged 75 and over for behavioral problems in nursing home during a 6 month-period.

NCT ID: NCT02462291 Completed - Alzheimer Disease Clinical Trials

New Approach for Treatment of Behavioral Disorders in Alzheimer's Disease (Alzheimer's Behavioral and Cognitive Disorders)

ABCD
Start date: June 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most frequent form of dementia, causing high level of disability with elevated social costs. Alternative solutions to the standard pharmacological therapies have been studied in order to reduce the use of medications that frequently generates side effects and worsen patients' quality of life. A recent alternative treatment for AD is the Environmental Ecological Therapy (EET) that, with the use of therapeutic gardens, seems to reduce behavioral disorders (BD). However, the effectiveness of this approach is still mater of debate. Therefore, the aim of this trial will be to analyze the effects of EET, in people with severe AD.

NCT ID: NCT01339195 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

Post-stroke Cognitive Impairment and Dementia

GRECogVASC
Start date: August 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Projections from epidemiological studies suggest that, among the Western adult population, one in three will present a cerebrovascular accident (stroke), severe cognitive disorders, or both. To better diagnose the Vascular Cognitive Impairment, new standards were developed by a North America working group which are under validation. It is essential to adapt these standard for French-speaking population, and especially to define cutoff scores of the cognitive battery to determine cognitive deficit. The investigators propose a study coordinated by the University-Hospital of Amiens for french speaking centers. This study will investigate this battery with 906 controls to define the standards and 302 stroke affected patients to define the frequency and cognitive mechanisms. This step is essential for people to benefit from these new standards.

NCT ID: NCT00392847 Completed - Clinical trials for Behavioral Disorders

Promoting Parental Skills and Enhancing Attachment in Early Childhood

CAPEDP
Start date: December 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Child psychological/behavioural disorders such as withdrawal may persist when the psychosocial context is unfavourable. Health promotion strategies (Olds' paradigm) have proved their efficacy in vulnerable populations. CAPEDP project sets out to evaluate a program of home visits in France
