NCT ID: NCT06271603 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Basal Cell Carcinoma of the Skin

Evaluation of the Efficiency and Economic Impact of LC-OCT (Line-field Confocal Optical Coherence Tomography) for the Diagnosis and Management of Basal Cell Carcinomas

ECOBASO
Start date: February 26, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a comparative, randomized, prospective, multicenter clinical investigation aimed at evaluating the efficiency and economic impact of LC-OCT (Line-field Confocal Optical Coherence Tomography) for the diagnosis and management of basal cell carcinomas.

NCT ID: NCT03621462 Not yet recruiting - Melanoma (Skin) Clinical Trials

Elucid Labs AIDA™ - Labelled Image Acquisition Protocol

Start date: October 15, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Diagnosis of melanoma involves physical examination of the lesion with many dermatologists adjunctively employing dermoscopes. The rate of misdiagnosis of melanoma remains significant, along with a high rate of referral to biopsy. Elucid Labs (Waterloo, Ontario) has developed a novel handheld, digital dermoscope with accompanying visualization and analysis software - the Artificial Intelligence Dermatology Assistant (AIDA™). Apart from collecting conventional demoscopic images, AIDA also collects images at various spectral bands. The aim of this study is to understand and quantify the value of this novel adjunctive information for dermatologists diagnosing atypical skin lesions.

NCT ID: NCT02507076 Withdrawn - Stage IV Melanoma Clinical Trials

Isolated Limb Perfusion With Melphalan in Treating Patients With Stage IIIB-IV Melanoma or Sarcoma

Start date: April 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This pilot clinical trial studies isolated limb perfusion with melphalan in treating patients with stage IIIB-IV melanoma or sarcoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as melphalan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Heating a chemotherapy solution and infusing it directly into the arteries around the tumor may kill more tumor cells.

NCT ID: NCT02258243 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Basal Cell Carcinoma of the Skin

Photodynamic Therapy Using Blue Light or Red Light in Treating Basal Cell Carcinoma in Patients With Basal Cell Nevus Syndrome

Start date: December 2015
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This pilot randomized phase II trial studies how well photodynamic therapy using blue light or red light works in treating basal cell cancer (carcinoma) in patients with a genetic condition that causes unusual facial features and disorders of the skin, bones, nervous system, eyes, and endocrine glands, also called basal cell nevus syndrome. Photodynamic therapy uses drugs, such as aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride, that are taken up by tumor cells and when exposed to an intensive light source (blue light or red light) become active and may kill the cells. It is not yet known whether photodynamic therapy is more effective with blue light or red light in treating basal cell carcinoma.

NCT ID: NCT01791894 Completed - Clinical trials for Recurrent Skin Cancer

Arsenic Trioxide in Treating Patients With Basal Cell Carcinoma

ATO
Start date: April 2013
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This pilot clinical trial studies arsenic trioxide in treating patients with basal cell carcinoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as arsenic trioxide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stop them from dividing

NCT ID: NCT01631331 Completed - Clinical trials for Recurrent Skin Cancer

Vismodegib in Treating Patients With Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)

Start date: June 2012
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to learn about the effect of vismodegib on sporadic basal cell carcinoma (BCCs) prior to surgical removal.

NCT ID: NCT01292668 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Photodynamic Therapy Using Methyl-5-Aminolevulinate Hydrochloride Cream in Determining Pain Threshold in Patients With Skin Cancer

Start date: March 2011
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Photodynamic therapy uses a drug that becomes active when it is exposed to a certain kind of light. When the drug is active, cancer cells are killed. Photodynamic therapy using methyl-5-aminolevulinate hydrochloride cream may be effective against skin cancer. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of photodynamic therapy with methyl-5-aminolevulinate hydrochloride cream in determining pain threshold patients with skin cancer

NCT ID: NCT00089180 Completed - Actinic Keratosis Clinical Trials

T4N5 Liposomal Lotion in Preventing The Recurrence of Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer in Patients Who Have Undergone a Kidney Transplant

Start date: March 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This randomized phase II trial is studying how well T4N5 liposomal lotion works in preventing the recurrence of nonmelanoma skin cancer in patients who have undergone a kidney transplant. Chemoprevention therapy is the use of certain drugs to try to prevent the development of or recurrence of cancer. T4N5 liposomal lotion may be effective preventing the recurrence of nonmelanoma skin cancer in patients who have undergone a kidney transplant.
