Filter by:Multicenter, prospective, open-label, cohort study. Primary objective: Determination of the predictive value of US alone and in combination with cartilage biodegradation markers on radiographic progression (change in Ratingen score) Secondary objectives: - Correlation of ultrasound synovitis score and clinical disease activity score - Determination of the sensitivity of ultrasound erosion detection compared to MRI - Assessment of the value of including tenosynovitis assessment for predicting radiographic progression - Assessment of the predictive value of ultrasound synovitis score at baseline for the need to install biologic DMARDs
Pharmacokinetic properties, efficacy, safety and tolerability of RGB-03 and MabThera will be compared in patients suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is the most common chronic inflammatory arthritis in adults. Monitoring of disease activity is based on Disease Activity Score 28 (DAS 28). There are also validated questionnaires for self-assessment of the disease by the patient. Grip strength measured using a digitized sensor used by the patient could be an additional tool to the remote monitoring of patients with RA. Main Objective : To evaluate the correlation between the measurement of grip strength in the dominant hand measured by a digital sensor and activity of RA assessed by DAS 28 Secondary objective : Evaluate the correlation between grip strength of the dominant hand and : - scores of fatigue and pain (VAS and FACIT) - the self-assessment scores known in RA : functional index Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) and scores of activity RAPID3 and RADAI5. It is a cross-sectional study involving 150 patients followed in our department for RA. Grip strength of the dominant hand will be measured by a digitalized sensor during a single visit integrating into the routine monitoring of patients.
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are prone to respiratory infections and therefore recommmended to receive vaccination against seasonal influenza. We and others have shown a relatively preserved humoral response to vaccination in RA patients. However, the cellular response as well as the effect of biologics such as tocilizumab on the cellular response has not been weel studied. The purpose of this study is the evaluate the effect of tocilizumab on the cellular immune response to influenza vaccine in patients with RA in comparison with healthy controls
A prospective, multi-centric, cohort study to observe the efficacy difference between intensive classic DMARDs and Infliximab(IFX) with methotrexate(MTX) treatment in sever rheumatoid arthritis(RA) 28 joints disease activity score>5.1(DAS28>5.1) patients with poor prognostic factors.Primary objective is compare the difference of clinical remission rate between classic DMARDs and Infliximab with MTX treatment in severe RA patients with poor prognostic factors at week 30.
Rheumatoid arthritis(RA) with a high incidence and high morbidity, the pathogenesis has not been fully elucidated. Fibroblast-like synovial cells excessive proliferation and synovial angiogenesis is the most important cause of RA synovitis and joint destruction. Our study was to find the role of Sonic Hedgehog(SHH) pathway in regulating proliferation of fibroblast-like synovial cells and modulating excess angiogenesis of synovial tissue.
The purpose of this study was to compare the safety and pharmacokinetic characteristics of DWP422 25 mg with those of ENBREL 25MG PFS INJ. after subcutaneous injection in healthy male volunteers.
Introduction Cardiovascular diseases are the first cause of death in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In 2010, EULAR Standing Committee for Clinical Affairs provides 10 recommendations for cardiovascular risk management in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, including a cardiovascular risk assessment annually. The goal of this study is to evaluate the application of EULAR recommendations in real life in patients with RA in the french population. Inclusion criteria: all patients over 18 years old with rheumatoid arthritis treated with at least one DMARDS and/or biologic therapy, affiliated to the RSI (regime social des independents which correspond to other branches of the universal healthcare insurance agency). Non inclusion criteria: patients declared as rheumatoid arthritis without DMARDS or biologic therapy or treated with steroids alone. The following analysis will be performed on the whole database of the RSI, without name identification. Evaluation criteria: at least once a years the prescription of at least one of the following items use in the evaluation of the cardiovascular risk factors: lipides dosage, glycemia, HbA1C, stress test, Carotid ultra-sonography, coronary or lower limbs arteriography, heart ultra-sonography, cardiology clinic, endocrinology clinic. This evaluation will be done on the whole national population of RSI for the year 2011 (01/01/2011 - 31/12/2011). On a subgroup of patients from the region "Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur", the investigators will analyze the year 2009, and compare to year 2011, to evaluate the impact of theses recommendations.
The investigators aim to measure the blood levels of certain metals in a group of patients all of whom have had a ceramic on metal total hip replacement. This new bearing surface (joint) is relatively new and the investigators are currently following up the largest cohort in the world. Clinical results are currently excellent at 2 years in all patients, however the investigators are mindful of the lessons learned from the high failure rate of several designs of metal on metal hip replacements as well as several in vitro reports and one in vivo case report of elevated metal levels in this particular implant. The investigators feel it is important to measure the metal ion levels in our group to ascertain and compare these with reference standards. Once performed the investigators can relate ion levels to function and x ray changes and provide useful longterm data to the patients and the wider medical community as to whether this bearing surface is safe in the long term or whether it's use should be abandoned. This is useful as there are numerous groups implanting this device in the UK and in addition it has just been awarded FDA approval in the USA - its use is likely to flourish.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) are characterized by chronic systemic inflammation and share common pathogenic pathways. In both diseases, cytokines like TNF and IL-17, known for their pro-inflammatory and osteoclastogenic effects, are relevant players, however, while RA is characterized by bone erosions, AS favors bone overgrowth. Understanding this paradox may hold the key for a better management of both diseases. Our hypothesis is that there are differences in the cellular environment and intracellular signaling between AS and RA. To test this hypothesis we will evaluate the cytokine milieu, the kinetics of bone cells differentiation and their activity in untreated and immunosuppressed RA and AS patients. We will also perform the same observations in patients exposed to targeted treatments.
