A Study of Comparing Effects of Thulium Laser en Bloc Resection and Electrical Transurethral Resection of the Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

This study is to verify the short-term efficacy and long-term prognosis of thulium laser resection compared with conventional transurethral resection of non-muscular invasive bladder cancer. Half of participants will receive thulium laser resection of bladder cancer, while the other half will receive electrical transurethral resection of bladder cancer.

Gemcitabine Hydrochloride, Cisplatin, and AGS-003-BLD in Treating Patients With Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer Undergoing Surgery

This pilot clinical trial studies how well gemcitabine hydrochloride, cisplatin, and AGS-003-BLD work in treating patients with bladder cancer that has spread to the muscle and who are undergoing surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Vaccines made from a person's tumor cells may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells. Giving gemcitabine hydrochloride, cisplatin, and AGS-003-BLD before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of tissue that needs to be removed by surgery.

Intravenous Lidocaine for Cystectomy Procedures

Patients scheduled for a cystectomy at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) will be enrolled into a randomized, double blinded clinical trial to assess if postoperative pain and ileus are reduced by perioperative intravenous lidocaine infusion versus placebo. The hypothesis is that patients receiving the lidocaine infusion will experience better pain control and ileus resolution. It is believed that lidocaine patients will also have less opioid requirement, less mortality, a shorter length of stay, less nausea /vomiting, and fewer adverse events.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate if the treatment with NEO-PV-01 + adjuvant in combination with nivolumab is safe and useful for patients with certain types of cancer. The study also will investigate if NEO-PV-01 + adjuvant with nivolumab may represent a substantial improvement over other available therapies such as nivolumab alone. All eligible patients will receive NEO-PV-01 + adjuvant and nivolumab while on this trial.
