Filter by:The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility and efficacy of a 12-week, home-based exercise program in bladder cancer patients undergoing curative intent neoadjuvant chemotherapy and RC.
Postoperative ileus (POI) is defined as a transient reduction of bowel motility that prevents effective transit of bowel content and tolerance of oral intake following surgical interventions, especially after radical cystectomy. It remains a major factor associated with postoperative morbidity, length of hospital stay and medical costs. In order to optimize perioperative care for patients undergoing radical cystectomy in a context of an ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) program, we will evaluate the effectiveness of systemic pharmacologic opioid antagonist treatment.
This phase II trial studies the benefit of adding an immunotherapy drug called MEDI4736 (durvalumab) to standard chemotherapy and radiation therapy in treating bladder cancer which has spread to the lymph nodes. Drugs used in standard chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Cisplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Immunotherapy with durvalumab may help the body's immune system attack the cancer and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving chemotherapy and radiation therapy with the addition of durvalumab may work better in helping tumors respond to treatment compared to chemotherapy and radiation therapy alone. Patients with limited regional lymph node involvement may benefit from attempt at bladder preservation, and use of immunotherapy and systemic chemotherapy.
To investigate the use of antibiotic prophylaxis in patients undergoing TURP and TURB. The investigators set up a prospective, randomized controlled trial in which (after exclusion of risk factors) patients will be randomized in receiving levofloxacin (Tavanic) orally or no antibiotics. The exclusion criteria for TURP are a pre-operative transurethral catheter or > 100 urinary white blood cells in the pre-operative urine sample. The exclusion criteria for TURB are a pre-op catheter or clinical signs of infection.
The purpose of the study is to see if treatment with nivolumab plus bempegaldesleukin or nivolumab alone, before and after surgery to remove the bladder, is more effective than surgery alone in participants with high-risk urothelial cancer, including muscle-invasive bladder cancer who are not able to receive cisplatin chemotherapy.
This study will be conducted in adult subjects diagnosed with any form of an advanced or metastatic solid tumors including urothelial carcinoma for which standard therapy is no longer effective or is intolerable. This is a phase 1, multi-center, open label study designed to assess safety and tolerability of IK-175 as a single agent and in combination with nivolumab, to determine the recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D). Disease response, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics, and response biomarkers will also be assessed.
This is a Phase 3 multicenter, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy of infigratinib (an oral targeted FGFR1-3 inhibitor) versus placebo, as adjuvant treatment following surgery in adult subjects with invasive urothelial carcinoma and susceptible FGFR3 genetic alterations (mutations, and gene fusions or rearrangements) who have disease that is considered at high risk for recurrence with surgery alone. The study enrolls subjects with either bladder cancer post radical cystectomy or upper tract urothelial cancer post distal ureterectomy and/or nephrectomy. Study treatment is randomized 1:1 between infigratinib or placebo with treatment up to 1 year or until invasive local, distal, or metastatic disease recurrence confirmed by independent imaging reviewer.
The current study aimed at prospectively assessing the performance of IUC as a predictive tool for residual tumor after primary TURBT of NMIBC, and possible future recurrence.
Open, multicentre, phase II trial of atezolizumab with concurrent normofractionated radiotherapy in patients with localized muscle-invasive bladder cancer treated with a selective multimodality bladder conservative approach.
