NCT ID: NCT03617913 Completed - Clinical trials for Stage III Bladder Cancer AJCC v8

Avelumab in Combination With Fluorouracil and Mitomycin or Cisplatin and Radiation Therapy in Treating Participants With Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer

Start date: September 19, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies the side effects of avelumab and how well it works in combination with fluorouracil and mitomycin or cisplatin and radiation therapy in treating participants with muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as avelumab, may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as fluorouracil, mitomycin, and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Radiation therapy uses high energy beams to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Giving avelumab with chemotherapy and radiotherapy may work better in treating participants with muscle-invasive bladder cancer.

NCT ID: NCT03590054 Completed - Metastatic Melanoma Clinical Trials

Abexinostat in Combination With Pembrolizumab in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumor Malignancies

Start date: August 20, 2018
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This phase I trial studies the best dose and side effects of abexinostat and how well it works with given together with pembrolizumab in treating participants with microsatellite instability (MSI) solid tumors that have spread to other places in the body. Abexinostat may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving abexinostat and pembrolizumab may work better in treating participants with solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT03520231 Completed - Bladder Cancer Clinical Trials

Study Comparing Denosumab With Standard Treatment in Urothelial Cancer Patients With Bone Metastases

Start date: September 4, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a phase 2 study of the drug denosumab for the management bone metastases from urothelial cancer. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective denosumab is in the management of bone metastases from urothelial cancer. This will be done by comparing denosumab with standard treatment, compared to placebo and standard treatment. Denosumab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to a protein called Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor κB (RANK). RANK works by telling certain cells called osteoclasts to break down bone tissue. The binding of denosumab to RANK stops it from telling osteoclasts to break down bone tissue which may help with symptoms related bone metastases from urothelial cancer.

NCT ID: NCT03219333 Completed - Clinical trials for Urinary Bladder Neoplasms

A Study of Enfortumab Vedotin for Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Urothelial Bladder Cancer

EV-201
Start date: October 8, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a study that will test how an experimental drug (enfortumab vedotin) affects patients with cancer of the urinary system (urothelial cancer). This type of cancer includes cancer of the bladder, renal pelvis, ureter or urethra that has spread to nearby tissues or to other areas of the body. This clinical trial will enroll patients who were previously treated with a kind of anticancer drug called an immune checkpoint inhibitor (CPI). Some CPIs have been approved for the treatment of urothelial cancer. This study will test if the cancer shrinks with treatment. This study will also look at the side effects of the drug. A side effect is a response to a drug that is not part of the treatment effect. Patients who sign up for this trial must also fall into one of these categories: - Patients have already received treatment with platinum-containing chemotherapy - Patients have never received platinum-containing treatment and are not eligible for treatment with cisplatin.

NCT ID: NCT03013920 Completed - Clinical trials for Urothelial Carcinoma

CLE Characteristics of Upper Urinary Tract Urothelial Carcinoma

Start date: August 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Rationale: Initial evaluation usually consists of cross sectional imaging of the urinary tract. When a suspect lesion is seen, an ureterorenoscopy is planned to visualize the lesion and to collect tissue for histopathology. These techniques are considered to be the gold standard in diagnosis of UTUC. CLE, a high resolution imaging technique that can be used in combination with endo-urological procedures, seems promising to improve diagnosis of urothelial cancer. CLE image characteristics for UTUC still have to be defined. Objective: With this IDEAL stage 2b explorative pilot study the investigators aim to assess in-vivo CLE image characteristics of normal urothelium, benign urothelium and urothelial carcinoma (low-grade, high-grade or CIS) of the upper urinary tract by qualitatively comparing CLE images with both histopathology from diagnostic biopsies and pathology from the therapeutic radical nephroureterectomy. Secondary objectives are the development of an imaging atlas and to assess the technical feasibility and procedure related adverse events of CLE.

NCT ID: NCT02665039 Completed - Bladder Cancer Clinical Trials

A Trial With Vinflunine in Patients With Metastatic Bladder Cancer and Impaired Renal Function

VINGEM
Start date: April 2014
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study aim to compare the efficacy, safety and quality of life of vinflunine/gemcitabine and carboplatin/gemcitabine in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer and impaired renal function.

NCT ID: NCT02643043 Completed - Bladder Cancer Clinical Trials

UC-GENOME: Urothelial Cancer-GENOmic Analysis to iMprove Patient Outcomes and rEsearch

Start date: July 26, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This comprehensive genomic analysis and biospecimen repository study incorporates Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) of archival tumor tissue from 200 subjects with metastatic urothelial cancer in support of several parallel goals. The immediate goal involves generation of a comprehensive report identifying subject specific genetic mutations and/or alterations based on NGS. Additionally, DNA and RNA extracted from tumor specimens and any remaining blocks/slides from the NGS will be stored for future research. Long-term, the goal of this endeavor is to support collaborative translational research projects in metastatic urothelial cancer by allowing investigators to interrogate abstracted coded clinical data linked to data from any biospecimen studies.

NCT ID: NCT02437370 Completed - Clinical trials for Recurrent Bladder Carcinoma

Pembrolizumab and Docetaxel or Gemcitabine Hydrochloride in Treating Patients Urothelial Cancer

Start date: September 1, 2015
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of pembrolizumab when given together with docetaxel or gemcitabine hydrochloride in treating patients with previously treated urothelial cancer that has spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment (advanced) or that has spread from the primary site (place where it started) to other places in the body (metastatic). Monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may block tumor growth in different ways by targeting certain cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel and gemcitabine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving pembrolizumab together with docetaxel or gemcitabine hydrochloride may be a better treatment for urothelial cancer.

Enzalutamide in Combination With Gemcitabine and Cisplatin in Bladder Cancer

Start date: February 11, 2015
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this study is to find out the dose of enzalutamide that can be safely given with gemcitabine and cisplatin in patients with advanced bladder cancer.
