Dynamic SAX vs Conventional LAX in Internal Jugular Vein Catheterization

Start date: March 11, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Conventionally, short-axis out-of-plane (SAX) or long-axis in-plane (LAX) ultrasound views are commonly used to guide internal jugular vein catheterization. SAX dynamic needle tip positioning (SAX-DNTP) is a novel ultrasound imaging technique that enables continuous visualization of the needle tip during ultrasound-guided cannulation; When the needle tip is imaged as a hyperechoic dot, the ultrasound probe is moved a few millimeters, and then the needle is advanced until the needle tip reappears in the vessel lumen. The process is repeated until the needle is advanced more than 1 cm into the lumen. The catheter is then introduced into the vessel. The aim of this study was to compare the first pass success rate of internal jugular vein catheterization between SAX-DNTP and the conventional LAX technique.

NCT ID: NCT03825172 Completed - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Evaluation Of Caudal Epidural Anatomy By Ultrasonography İn Pediatric Patients

Start date: January 28, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Detailed study of ultrasonographic caudal epidural anatomy

NCT ID: NCT03818139 Completed - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Performance of Lung Ultrasonography for Endotracheal Tube Positioning in Neonates

ECHOSI
Start date: January 30, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Lung Ultrasonography (US) has been shown to be effective for verifying endotracheal tube (ETT) position in adults and children but has been less studied in neonates. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of lung US in determining correct ETT position in neonates, in comparison with X Ray

NCT ID: NCT03805958 Not yet recruiting - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Ultrasound-guided Combined Spinal-epidural Anesthesia: Pre-procedure Versus Real-time Scan

Start date: November 15, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators will compare the success rate, the consumed time, the number of needle passing, the depth and angle of the needle, the anesthetic effect, complications, pain and patient's satisfaction between 'Real-time scan' and 'Pre-procedure scan', when we performing spinal/epidural combined anesthesia.

NCT ID: NCT03764111 Completed - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Comparing an Inexpensive Handheld Ultrasound Machine and a Large Mobile Ultrasound System

Start date: October 23, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To assess the quality of images and diagnostic ability of a handheld device under two thousand dollars against those of a bigger and more expensive ultrasound machine.

NCT ID: NCT03697902 Completed - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Influence of Imaging Angle in Measurement of Cisterna Magna

Start date: October 15, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of imaging angle on the measurement of fetal cisterna magna (CM) in the second trimester. Fetal CM will be prospectively measured in women at 18-24.6 weeks' gestation. Measurements will be made on different angles between the transducer and fetal cerebellar axial plane with internal landmarks. Design: Observative, cross sectional

NCT ID: NCT03609879 Completed - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Effect of Cervical Collar on Intracranial Pressure

Start date: August 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The routine use of cervical collar in emergency medical conditions has recently been questioned. The application of cervical collars, as their opponents point out, results in deterioration of intubation conditions, intensification of pain in the region of mastoid processes, and impaired venous outflow from the head.

NCT ID: NCT03599505 Not yet recruiting - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Intraoperative Ultrasonographic Localization of Pulmonary Nodules in VATS

Start date: July 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is conducted to explore the feasibility and value of Intraoperative ultrasonographic localization of pulmonary nodules in video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS).

NCT ID: NCT03565419 Completed - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Use of Smart Glasses for Ultrasound Guided Peripheral Venous Access

Start date: June 20, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Investigators aimed to explore the feasibility of smart glasses connected to a wireless ultrasound transducer for the peripheral venous access. Residents who have basic skills of ultrasound guided procedure participate in the simulation. Each participant plays the following two roles for ultrasound guided peripheral venous access; ultrasound guided peripheral venous access with and without wearing smart glasses. The order of performing two roles is determined by a randomized process and the gap between two roles are five days. The primary outcome is the time of successful blood aspiration, and secondary outcomes are first time success rate, the number of skin puncture, the number of needle redirection, the number of head movement, and subjective difficulty.

NCT ID: NCT03560505 Completed - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

High-resolution Ultrasound in Lower Extremity Nerves and Common Fibular Neuropathies.

Start date: May 16, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study establishes reference material of selected lower extremity nerves at pre-defined sites with high-resolution ultrasound. Furthermore in this study, high-resolution ultrasound of patients with common fibular compression neuropathy and patients with type 2 diabetic polyneuropathy involving the common fibular nerve will be examined and compared to healthy controls. High-resolution ultrasound measurements will be correlated with history, clinical information and electrophysiological data.
