Filter by:This study aimed to evaluate serum thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) activity as a marker for solid tumors and more specifically in: preoperative testing for prediction of disease recurrence and survival; follow-up after surgical removal of the original tumor for early detection of disease recurrence and in monitoring therapy as a surrogate marker of tumor response.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential of [18F]-ML-10 to serve as an imaging tool for the early detection of response of brain metastases to radiation therapy. Such early detection may help early identification of responsive and non-responsive lesions. The experimental design of the present study aims to evaluate the potential of PET imaging with [18F]-ML-10 to address the currently unmet clinical need for very early (within one day)assessment of response to therapy. Currently, response assessment is available only after several weeks or months after completion of therapy, when tumor shrinkage can be detected by anatomical imaging (by MRI). Early detection of tumor response to treatment is now widely-recognized as a highly-desirable goal in oncology, and is respectively the target of intense research worldwide. In the future, the option to know early upon treatment administration, that the treated tumor is a non-responsive, may improve clinical management of patients with brain metastases of solid tumors.
To assess the engraftment of hematopoietic stem cells following reduced-intensity conditioning in children presenting with solid tumors or hematological malignancy by evaluating post-transplantation chimerism and hematological reconstitution. To study acute and/or chronic graft-versus-host reaction (incidence and severity) and immune reconstitution, post-transplantation To study the effectiveness of the protocol on tumor response. To study overall survival.
Hypothesis: Radiosensitization using Xeloda should improve the rate of complete pain relief. Primary Objective: - To determine the frequency of pain relief for the proposed regimen. Secondary Objective(s): - To determine the duration of pain relief and narcotic relief for the proposed regimen. - To determine the frequency of narcotic relief for the proposed regimen. - To determine the toxicity of concurrent UFT and radiotherapy in patients with bone metastases.
