NCT ID: NCT00945685 Completed - Skin Aging Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Safety and Efficacy of Using Imagine™ Computerized Radiofrequency System for Skin Tightening

Start date: July 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Skin aging is a multifactorial process involving the 3 layers of the skin: Epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. Skin aging process involves among others: skin roughness (epidermis), skin dyschromia (epidermis, dermis), wrinkles and elastosis - skin texture changes due to collagen modification, skin laxity and cellulite (dermis and hypodermis). EndyMion has developed the Imagine™ system - Computerized Radiofrequency System for Skin Tightening. By using a multielectrodes treatment tip an exact computerized thermal pattern can be produced allowing to selectively heating one or more of the target tissues (epidermis, dermis and hypodermis). In the skin tightening module the dermis and hypodermis would be targeted, creating enough thermal effect to induce collagen remodeling with no ablative thermal damage in the epidermis or dermis. This post marketing study is intended for evaluation of safety and efficacy of the Imagine™ system.

NCT ID: NCT00250952 Completed - Skin Wrinkling Clinical Trials

Study to Determine If the Volume Used to Dilute BOTOX Cosmetic™ for Injection Affects Its Overall Effect and Duration.

Start date: February 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

It is thought that the amount of fluid used to dilute Botox for injection has an effect on the quality of the result and the duration of effect on the treatment of upper face rhytides, even though the dose remains the same. The study was designed to test this thinking, using the crow's feet wrinkles as the treatment area.

NCT ID: NCT00114673 Completed - Skin Wrinkling Clinical Trials

A Study to Validate Cosmetic Outcome Scales Used to Rate Uneven Skin Color and Wrinkling

Start date: June 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Skin chronically exposed to the sun may become damaged and then develop wrinkles and/or uneven skin color. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate a newly developed scale (grading tool) that rates wrinkles and uneven skin color. This newly developed scale will be used in future topical drug studies to measure these changes in the skin.

NCT ID: NCT00113100 Completed - Skin Wrinkling Clinical Trials

Mechanisms of Skin Repair by Topical Estrogen

Start date: August 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate the way by which estrogen improves the appearance of sun damaged human skin. Accumulating evidence suggests that estrogen, taken by post menopausal women, may cause skin to look younger as a consequence of reduced wrinkles. Collagen is the most abundant protein in human skin and gives skin its strength and shape. Recent data indicate that short-term topical estrogen (17-beta estradiol) treatment increases collagen production in sun damaged skin. This study will compare the molecular and microscopic effects from topical 17-beta estradiol (E2) when applied to the skin for a short-term duration. It is anticipated that the new knowledge from this study will enable development of new ways to improve the function of aged skin.

NCT ID: NCT00111254 Completed - Skin Wrinkling Clinical Trials

The Effects of Microdermabrasion on Skin Remodeling

Start date: June 2002
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This research project aims to study the effects of microdermabrasion, a technique causing minimal injury used to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. Subjects will undergo microdermabrasion, which is a gentle "sand-blasting" of the skin. We are interested in determining how this procedure works at rebuilding the skin following microdermabrasion.
