NCT ID: NCT02886975 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Renal Insufficiency, Chronic

Effects of Low Protein Diet in Preventing the Progression of Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD)---a Prospective Study

Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether low protein diet and very low protein diet supplemented keto-/amino acid is effective in preventing the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD , stage 2 to 5).

NCT ID: NCT02886962 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

Oral Anticoagulation in Haemodialysis Patients

AVKDIAL
Start date: July 12, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Guidelines recommend oral anticoagulation with vitamin K antagonists for atrial fibrillation whenever the CHADS2VASC score is superior or equal to 2. As there are no specific guidelines for the hemodialysis patients with atrial fibrillation, the general guidelines apply. However, several retrospective studies suggest that these patients do not benefit from the oral anticoagulation regarding the risk of stroke and may even experience more bleedings and deaths. The aim of this prospective study is to prospectively compare the hemorrhagic and thrombotic risks of oral anticoagulation in comparison with no anticoagulation in hemodialysis patients with atrial fibrillation.

NCT ID: NCT02883777 Enrolling by invitation - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

Effect of a High Protein and Low Glycemic Index Diet on Kidney Transplant Recipients

Start date: April 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is a randomized clinical trial, which will follow and evaluate 120 kidney transplant recipients over one year. There will be two groups: a control group and the intervention group. The dietitian visits will happen monthly during the first six months and twice in the last six months. The intervention group will receive a high-protein and low glycemic index diet (1,3g/kg/day of protein) and the control group will keep following the hospital standard protocol. The study assessments (weight, anthropometry and biochemistry) will be performed during these visits over one year after the randomization period.

NCT ID: NCT02883309 Approved for marketing - Clinical trials for Chronic Renal Failure

Efficacy of an Intradialysis Combined Training Program on Disability Level and Physical Performance.

PTH-CKD0113
Start date: November 2013
Phase: Phase 0
Study type: Expanded Access

The patient subjected to hemodialysis has a low physical capacity due to being advanced in years and the complexity of the process, which is encouraged by family members and caregivers who lead them to a total dependence. The Intradialytic physical exercise is presented as an alternative to counteract this functional deterioration of patients with terminal chronic kidney failure.

NCT ID: NCT02874521 Completed - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

Low-frequency Electrical Muscle Stimulation vs Cycle Training During Haemodialysis

Start date: March 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the trial is to compare the effects of intra-dialytic low-frequency electrical muscle stimulation and intra-dialytic cycling, with usual care haemodialysis without exercise training.

NCT ID: NCT02874378 Recruiting - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Effects of Dexmedetomidine on Postoperative Renal Function Recovery After Kidney Transplantation in Adult Patients

Start date: October 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Postoperative renal function recovery is very important to value the operation quality after kidney transplantation. Dexmedetomidine is a selective alpha-2 agonist, enhances urine flow rate and perioperative renal function. Some animal experiments have revealed its beneficial effects against ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI), our goal is therefore to investigate the effectiveness of a recipient treatment with Dexmedetomidine during operation at reducing Cystatin C level and enhancing renal function after kidney transplantation.

NCT ID: NCT02872155 Completed - Renal Insufficiency Clinical Trials

Comparative Study of the Efficacy of Oral Versus Intravenous Hydration as a Preventive Measure of Contrast-induced Nephropathy (CIN) in Patients With Renal Insufficiency (RI) Grade III Under Study Conducting Computed Tomography (CT)

NICIR
Start date: July 4, 2017
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates if oral hydratation is as effective as endovenous hydratation in the prophylaxis of contrast-induced nephropathy in patients renal insufficiency grade III under study conducting contrasted computed tomography.

NCT ID: NCT02865980 Recruiting - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Effect of Washing With Clove Extract on Inflammation and Infection Place Logging Shaldon Needle

Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized clinical trial will conducted involving 60 patients under hemodialysis and hospitalized to Imam Reza and Montasareyeh hospitals of Mashhad in 2016. Patients were assigned to experimental and control groups of 30 people, randomly (double block). In the both intervention and control group, first will be washed the Catheter with Betadine, but in intervention group, after 2 minutes will be used of the clove extract with 2 ml of scrub for 15 seconds. The incidence and severity of inflammation as well as infection of vascular access will be assessed in patients on hemodialysis for each patient before starting the process over a period of 2 weeks is equivalent to 6 sessions of hemodialysis.

NCT ID: NCT02864641 Completed - Clinical trials for Renal Insufficiency, Chronic

Mobile Technology and Online Tools to Track Adherence in Chronic Illness Patients

OMMS
Start date: July 2015
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this project is to test the efficacy of Planet K, a mobile and web-based technology infrastructure specifically designed to (a) enhance youths' chronic kidney disease- and treatment-related knowledge through interactive and game-based educational materials; (b) support adherence to the treatment regimen through customized task prompts via mobile and web-based delivery; and (c) promote patient-provider communication through real-world data collection and feedback loops. Investigators will examine the effectiveness of the Planet K mobile app and website in improving treatment adherence, disease-related knowledge, transition readiness, condition management, and the psychological correlates of these variables in adolescents and young adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

A Study of Peginterferon Alfa-2a (Pegasys) and Ribavirin (Copegus) Combination Therapy in Participants With Chronic Hepatitis C (CHC) and Various Degrees of Renal Impairment

Start date: February 2004
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics (area under the curve [AUC], maximum concentration [Cmax], and other parameters) and tolerability of peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin combination therapy following single and multiple doses in participants with CHC infection and moderate to severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease (ESRD) receiving hemodialysis. The anticipated time on study treatment is up to 48 weeks, and the target sample size is 48 individuals.
