Start date: January 2009
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a multi-center, 2-part phase 1b/2 study of AMG 655 in combination with AMG 479 to be conducted in the United States and Spain. Part 1 is a dose escalation segment to identify a dose of AMG 655 in combination with AMG 479 that is safe and tolerable. Part 2 will evaluate the safety and estimate the efficacy of AMG 655 at the dose selected in Part 1 in combination with AMG 479 for the treatment of patients with advanced NSCLC (non-squamous histology; squamous histology), CRC, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, and sarcoma.

Gemcitabine or Gemcitabine and Cisplatin in the Treatment of Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

GIP-1
Start date: April 2002
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of the addition of cisplatin to gemcitabine in the treatment of patients with inoperable advanced pancreatic cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00810953 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

A Safety Study Using Pentamidine in Patients With Pancreatic Cancer Undergoing Standard Therapy

Start date: January 2009
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and possible efficacy of the use of pentamidine in the treatment of pancreatic cancer metastasis in subjects receiving standard therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00810719 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Gemcitabine and Erlotinib in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Recurrent Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: April 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving gemcitabine together with erlotinib may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving gemcitabine together with erlotinib works in treating patients with metastatic or recurrent pancreatic cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00806611 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Intraoperative Celiac Plexus Neurolysis for Patients With Operable Pancreatic and Periampullary Cancer

Start date: September 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Determine if the addition of an intraoperative ethanol celiac plexus neurolysis (alcohol block) in patients undergoing surgical intervention for pancreatic cancer will result in a decrease in cancer associated pain

NCT ID: NCT00805688 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Identifying the Role of Symptom Outcomes and Biomarkers in Survival in Patients With Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: November 12, 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The goal of this clinical research study is to learn about symptoms related to chemotherapy and the disease, in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. Researchers will study the possible reason for these symptoms by drawing blood samples and comparing the test results to the symptoms you experience. The study will also use a special telephone system for measuring the symptoms of participants during and after therapy. Your level of physical activity will also be studied using a pedometer and study diary.

NCT ID: NCT00795977 Unknown status - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Preoperative Intratumor Dendritic Cells Injection Immunotherapy for Patients With Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: November 2003
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to confirm safety and immunological responses of Preoperative intratumor dendritic cells injection immunotherapy using immature dendritic cells with S pyogenes Preparation (OK-432) for patients with resectable pancreatic cancer for pancreatic cancer patients.

NCT ID: NCT00790569 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Varenicline or Nicotine Patch and Nicotine Gum in Helping Smokers in a Methadone Treatment Program Stop Smoking

Start date: September 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Varenicline, the nicotine patch, and nicotine gum help people stop smoking. It is not yet known whether varenicline is more effective than the nicotine patch given together with nicotine gum in helping smokers quit smoking. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying varenicline to see how well it works compared with the nicotine patch given together with nicotine gum in helping smokers in a methadone treatment program stop smoking.

NCT ID: NCT00789763 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials
