Filter by:Neo-adjuvant chemoradiotherapy (neo-CRT) is increasingly applied in the curative treatment of esophageal cancer, with the aim to downstage the tumor, to increase the rate of radical resections, and consequently to improve the survival rates. Due to improved survival, it will become increasingly important to minimize the radiation-induced toxicity among long-term survivors. In the management of locally advanced non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), radiotherapy is the standard treatment modality. However, the dose that can be safely applied to the tumour is limited by the risk of cardiac and pulmonary complications, which even led to decreased survival in a randomised study, when a higher tumor dose was administered [1]. Radiation induced pulmonary and cardiac toxicity are the most important late side effects after thoracic radiotherapy [2-4]. The aim of this study is to reduce the radiation dose of heart (and lungs) in order to reduce the toxicity risk. In recent years, the active breathing control (ABC) technique has been introduced in the radiotherapy for left sided breast cancer patients, to minimize the radiation dose to the heart. These patients are irradiated in the inspiration phase, in which the distance between the heart and the breast is largest, while the lungs extend. Breath hold might also be beneficial for radiotherapy of esophageal and lung tumors. For these patients the expiratory phase might theoretically be more beneficial to reduce the heart dose. However, the inspiration phase might be better for the dose to the lungs, which consequently allows cardiac dose reduction.
This study mainly to observe the anti angiogenic drugs Endostatin (Endostar) combined with vinorelbine and Cisplatin (NP) as neoadjuvant therapy in patients with non small cell lung cancer clinical efficiency and safety. Through anti angiogenesis therapy combined with neoadjuvant chemotherapy improve the treatment of neoadjuvant therapy in tumor response rate and the rate of resection, At the same time, the study before and after the anti angiogenesis therapy in patients with peripheral blood circulation endothelial cells(CECs), levels of Endothelial progenitor cells(EPC), micro vascular density(MVD) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) expression level, to understanding the correlation between the clinical efficacy of anti angiogenesis therapy combined with chemotherapy and the change of all these markers. In order to find the reference basis for the prediction of the effect of curative effect. The changes of blood volume, blood flow and vascular permeability of the lung cancer before and after treatment with CT perfusion imaging are studied.
To evaluate the increase in Overall Response Rate (ORR) in the pembrolizumab alone arm compared to the pembrolizumab after SBRT arm at 12 weeks
The purpose of the study is to compare the intratumoral biodistribution of FAZA and F-miso in patients with non-small cell lung cancer and correlate the results of PET scans with immunohistochemistry.
EBUS elastography is a method to determine stiffness of lymph nodes, based on the minute deformation of the node by the beating heart. Whether EBUS elastography may further increase the sensitivity to predict the presence or absence of malignancy is unclear. We suggest to use EBUS elastography strain pattern analysis for this assessment and correlate these measurements with the final pathology outcome to determine NPV, PPV, sensitivity and specificity of this analysis to predict the presence or absence of malignancy in patients with (suspected) lung cancer in a prospectively obtained observational cohort study.
RejuvenAir System treatment will be performed during preoperative bronchoscopy 2 to 90 days prior to prescheduled lung resection in Subjects requiring lobectomy for removal of peripheral tumors. Treatment will be limited to areas of the bronchi within the lobe that will be removed, distal to the anticipated margin of resection. Treatment should be at least 1 cm from the bronchial resection margins and away from the tumor bed. Treated airways will be inspected via bronchoscopy at the time of thoracotomy, and examined histologically following surgical resection. Subject participation will be from 1 to 90 days and enrollment is anticipated to take 3 months. Subject having a RejuvenAir procedure and not going on to a resection for any reason will be followed for a maximum of 90 days for safety and undergo bronchoscopic evaluation of the treated airways at 90 days (+/- 4 Days)) post treatment.
The purpose of this study is to compare the overall survival of nivolumab versus chemotherapy in subjects with relapsed SCLC.
The purpose of this study is to show that the use of low volume iso-osmolar non-ionic radio contrast medium (30 cc) in a thoracic CT Scanning procedure in a selected group of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) will avoid contrast induced nephropathy (CIN) in comparison to a similar group of patients with CKD who receive no contrast medium..
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of enoblituzumab (MGA271) in combination with Keytruda (pembrolizumab) when given to patients with B7-H3-expressing melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN), non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), Urothelial Cancer and other B7-H3 expressing cancers. The study will also evaluate what is the highest dose of enoblituzumab that can be given safely when given with pembrolizumab. Assessments will also be done to see how the drug acts in the body (pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics) and to evaluate potential anti-tumor activity of MGA271 in combination with pembrolizumab. Safety and efficacy of enoblituzumab in combination with MGA012 (anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody; also known as INCMGA00012) will also be evaluated.
The aim of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of single agent AZD9291 in a real world setting in adult patients with advanced or metastatic, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) T790M mutation-positive Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), who have received prior EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy.
