NCT ID: NCT05766046 Recruiting - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Lung Cancer Prevention Screening Programme in Italy

RISP
Start date: September 17, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This prospective randomized multicentered clinical study aims at implementing early diagnosis of lung cancer in high-risk heavy smokers in the Italian population. The main goal of the study is to develop a nationwide lung cancer prevention screening with high quality standard, similar to that of other screening programs i.e. breast, colon and cervix ongoing in Italy. The Italian Pulmonary Screening Network (RISP) includes 18 centers, which will promote primary prevention by offering a smoking cessation program (i.e. counselling and anti-smoking cytisine-based therapy) and secondary prevention by screening volunteers with chest Low Dose Computed Tomography (LDCT). The primary objective of the study is to demonstrate the non-inferiority of a risk-based screening strategy (less intensive, every 2 years) compared to the standard annual screening, in terms of stage I/II lung cancer incidence. Furthermore, the study aims to provide evidence whether blood biomarkers screening intervals can improve the efficiency of lung cancer screening by requiring less CT examinations while retaining the ability to diagnose lung cancer at curative state.

TAS3351
Start date: May 3, 2023
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a first-in-human, open label, Phase 1/2 study to investigate the safety and efficacy of TAS3351 in patients with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring an acquired C797S epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation.

NCT ID: NCT05764928 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Nonsquamous Nonsmall Cell Neoplasm of Lung

Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of BLEX 404 Oral Liquid Combined With Pemetrexed + Cisplatin Therapy

Start date: July 1, 2024
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Maitake is reported with immunomodulatory functions against tumor growth in terms of its unique molecular structure, β-glucan polysaccharides within 1, 6 main chain having 1, 3 branches and a 1, 3 main chain having 1, 6 branches configuration. The β-glucan is identified as a main component of BLEX 404. Not only with therapeutic potential on several types of cancer, BLEX 404 has also shown the potential to improve hematopoiesis, granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) production, and the cytotoxicity activity of immune cells in recent animal studies. Its antitumor effect on tumor-bearing mice is exerted by enhancing the immune system through activation of macrophages, T cells, and natural killer (NK) cells. The activation of antigen presenting cells (APCs) such as macrophages, dendritic cells (DCs) via BLEX 404 administration is in response to secretion of interleukin-12 (IL-12). BLEX 404 has been found to enhance the activity of immunocompetent cells such as helper T cells, cytotoxic T cells, and NK cells either by i.p injection or oral intake, therefore, it stimulates innate and adaptive immunity. BLEX 404 enhances hematopoiesis by increasing mouse bone marrow cell and human cord blood cell differentiation into granulocytes-macrophages (GMs), granulopoiesis and mobilization of granulocytes, and granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) or G-CSF production. One related phase I healthy human trial by treating with Maitake D-fraction was examined in Italy. The published data of trial for solid tumor patients was in the year 2003 in Japan, and another for breast cancer patients was in the year 2009 in the United States executed by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Lately, same team amended IND for myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) human trial. All those human experiences are the fundamental of developing BLEX 404 Oral Liquid.

NCT ID: NCT05762731 Recruiting - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Screening for Lung Cancer in Subjects With Family History of Lung Cancer

Start date: February 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Lung cancer can be detected via screening of high-risk individuals, i.e current or ex-heavy smokers, with low-dose computer tomography (LDCT) of thorax. The National Lung Screening Trial in US and the NELSON trial in Europe demonstrated reduction in lung cancer mortality with LDCT screening for lung cancer. In Hong Kong, however, there is a prominence of female never-smokers with lung cancer. There is no identifiable risk factors for non-smokers with lung cancer except family history of lung cancer. The hypothesis is that lung cancer screening for subjects with family history of lung cancer, can detect early lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT05761977 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Small-cell Lung Cancer

Durvalumab in Combination With Standard Chemotherapy of Patients With Extensive Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer

DRIVE
Start date: March 31, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a non-interventional, multicenter, prospective observational study and registry of standard clinical practice in patients with Extensive Stage-Small Cell Lung Cancer (ES-SCLC) receiving 1st line treatment with Durvalumab in combination with standard chemotherapy (cisplatin or carboplatin + etoposide) in the approved indication, which will be carried out in Greece. In this study data will be collected prospectively based on real-world clinical practice. A prospective cohort of atients from centers of the Hellenic Cooperative Oncology Group (HeCOG) will be included. The study will be conducted in hospitals and by physicians specialized in lung cancer from different geographical areas of Greece.

Determining Clinical Trial Experiences of Lung Cancer Patients

Start date: March 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Participation in medical trials usually favors a particular demographic group. But there is limited research available to explain what trial attributes affect the completion of these specific demographic groups. This trial will admit a wide range of data on the clinical trial experience of lung cancer patients to determine which factors prevail in limiting a patient's ability to join or finish a trial. It will also try to analyze data from the perspective of different demographic groups to check for recurring trends which might yield insights for the sake of future lung cancer patients.

NCT ID: NCT05754203 Recruiting - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of Super-hyperfractionation Pulse Radiotherapy Combined With ICIs for Advanced NSCLC

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Investigators intend to combine low-dose hypersensitivity with high-dose immunopotentiation effect, and use super-hyperfractionation pulse radiotherapy, which is expected to achieve the effect of in situ vaccine that can enhance tumor killing, protect normal tissues, reduce immune cell damage and enhance tumor immunogenicity at the same time, and play a stronger immunopotentiation effect in combined immunotherapy. Thereby inducing a stronger abscopal effect of radiotherapy.
