NCT ID: NCT00025272 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Extensive-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: November 1, 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug and giving them in different ways may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining topotecan, carboplatin, and etoposide in treating patients who have extensive-stage small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00025207 Completed - Clinical trials for Recurrent Malignant Mesothelioma

Gefitinib in Treating Patients With Malignant Mesothelioma

Start date: September 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of gefitinib in treating patients who have malignant mesothelioma. Biological therapies such as gefitinib may interfere with the growth of the tumor cells and slow the growth of malignant mesothelioma

NCT ID: NCT00024271 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Malignant Mesothelioma

Surgery, Chemotherapy, and Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Peritoneal Cancer

Start date: May 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving the drugs directly into the tumor after surgery and combining them with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy in treating patients who have peritoneal cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00024076 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Radiofrequency Ablation in Treating Patients With Refractory or Advanced Lung Cancer

Start date: May 2000
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Radiofrequency ablation uses high-frequency electric current to kill tumor cells. CT-guided radiofrequency ablation may be effective treatment for lung cancer. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of radiofrequency ablation in treating patients who have refractory or advanced lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00023985 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Vaccine Therapy in Treating Patients With Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: January 2001
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Vaccines made from a person's tumor cells and white blood cells may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of vaccine therapy in treating patients who have non-small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00023673 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Radiation Therapy Combined With Paclitaxel and Carboplatin in Treating Patients With Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: July 2001
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug and giving them with specialized radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the effectiveness of radiation therapy combined with paclitaxel and carboplatin in treating patients who have stage III non-small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00022711 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Temozolomide in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Progressive Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: January 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of temozolomide in treating patients who have relapsed or progressive small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00022646 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Pemetrexed Disodium Plus Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: August 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving more than one drug and giving the drugs in different ways may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of three different regimens of pemetrexed disodium plus gemcitabine in treating patients who have locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00022308 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: January 1999
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining chemotherapy with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy and radiation therapy in treating patients who have locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00022243 Active, not recruiting - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

T138067 in Treating Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer That Has Not Responded to Previous Chemotherapy

Start date: October 2000
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of T138067 in treating patients who have locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer that has not responded to previous chemotherapy.
