Filter by:The investigators hypothesize that the age-adjusted telomere length in lung cancer patients before chemotherapy may be correlated to comorbidity status and predict outcome. The change of telomere length shortening after chemotherapy may relate to treatment side effect and treatment response.
This phase I trial studies the side effects of soy isoflavones when given together with radiation therapy and chemotherapy in treating patients with stage IIIA-IIIB non-small cell lung cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, pemetrexed sodium, and etoposide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Soy isoflavones may help radiation therapy, cisplatin, pemetrexed sodium, and etoposide work better by making tumor cells more sensitive to the drug. Soy isoflavones may also protect normal cells from the side effects of radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of cryoablation therapy used to treat tumors in participants with pulmonary metastatic disease. This study is to enroll participants who will undergo cryoablation of at least 1 metastatic pulmonary tumor that is less than or equal to 3.5 centimeter (cm). Participants will be followed 24 months post their cryoablation procedure.

The goal of this research study is to learn the opinion of patients and their caregiving about a couple-based Hatha Yoga program during treatment for cancer. Researchers also want to learn the effect of this program on lung function, distress, and quality of life.
An open-label, non randomized clinical trial of Tarceva as single agent in progressed non-small cell lung cancer patients.
This is a Phase II, open-label, multicenter, multi cohort, study of VS-6063 (defactinib), a focal adhesion kinase inhibitor, in patients with KRAS mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). NSCLC with a KRAS mutation is required for study entry and subjects will be enrolled into 1 of 4 cohorts based on the status of their INK4a/Arf and p53 mutations. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate if VS-6063 (defactinib) improves PFS within each cohort. The safety and tolerability of VS-6063, tumor response rate, progression free survival and overall survival will also be assessed. The pharmacodynamic effects of VS-6063 (defactinib) will be examined in a tumor biopsy and a blood sample.
