Filter by:This global, multicenter, open-label, randomized, controlled study evaluated the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab (an anti-programmed death−ligand 1 [anti-PD-L1] antibody)compared with docetaxel in participants with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after failure with platinum-containing chemotherapy. Participants were randomized 1:1 to receive either docetaxel or atezolizumab. Treatment may continue as long as participants experienced clinical benefit as assessed by the investigator, i.e., in the absence of unacceptable toxicity or symptomatic deterioration attributed to disease progression.
In the diagnosis of lung cancer, the cytological sample obtained during Bronchoscopy (FBS), has an increasingly important role in the characterization of malignancy. The cytological sample can be harvested during bronchoscopy by bronchial brushing, bronchial lavages or fine needle aspiration. Immunocytochemical staining allows not only to discriminate between small cell lung cancer versus non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but also to identify the expression of specific markers such as TTF-1, CK7, CK20, 4A4, 34βE12 and p63. Thin Prep is a technique for cytological assay already validated and largely used in the immunocytochemical determination of gynaecologic specimens. Further Studies are required to asses the accuracy of this technique compared to conventional smear in cytological airway samples obtained by fine needle aspiration.
This study is being done to evaluate the safety and efficacy of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) in participants with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tumors that are positive for programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1): the hypothesis is that treatment with pembrolizumab will result in a clinically meaningful Overall Response Rate (ORR).
The logical next step is to integrate molecular profiling into the care of all patients with NSCLC.
- Lung cancer is one of causes of the malignant tumor-associated death on a global scale, in which the surgery is the only effective approach in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). As present, the total postoperative 5-year survival rate of NSCLC is 40%, while only 4%~15% patients can benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy[1]. American National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) manual recommends that adjuvant chemotherapy can be performed on NSCLC patients in phase Ⅱ~ⅢA. - In order to assure the necessity of adjuvant chemotherapy on NSCLC patients in phase ⅠB or which kind of patients would benefit from it after the establishment of new staging, a multi-subject group of lung cancer set up a perspective, randomized, open clinical trial to explore whether adjuvant chemotherapy was effective on NSCLC patients in phase ⅠB under new staging policy, and to collect the characteristics of patients who could benefit from the treatment and the better adjuvant drugs after operation.
The purpose of this study is to determine if MEDI4736 will be adequately tolerated in combination with tremelimumab in subjects with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The purpose of this study is to: - Find out if the study drugs Afatinib and Dasatinib can be safely given together to patients with lung cancer - Learn how these two drugs work in cancer cells when they are combined - Learn more about the side effects of these two drugs when combined - Find the highest doses of the study drugs Afatinib and Dasatinib that can be given safely without causing serious side effects
This randomized pilot clinical trial studies exercise intervention in improving quality of life and exercise capacity and reducing inflammation and oxidative stress in patients with lung cancer and their support persons. Exercise therapy may help improve quality of life, may increase exercise capacity, and may reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in patients with lung cancer and their supporters.
Phase 1A/B, multicenter, open-label, non-randomized, dose-escalation oncology study to evaluate the administration of EC1456 in advanced solid tumors. In part A, EC1456 will be dose escalated on 4 concurrently enrolling schedules. FR-positive expression on a 99mTc-etarfolatide scan is not required for inclusion in Part A. Part B of the study will confirm the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and the recommended Phase 2 (RP2) dose of EC1456, and evaluate the efficacy of EC1456 in NSCLC all subtype patient populations with FR-positive cancer in up to three schedules (i.e., twice weekly, once weekly, and four times weekly). FR-positive expression on a 99mTc-etarfolatide scan is required for inclusion in Part B. Minimum length of patient participation is anticipated to be 10 weeks (two 3-week cycles followed by a 30 day follow-up period).
The primary purpose of this research study is to see whether adding bavituximab (an investigational drug) to the standard chemotherapy drug docetaxel, will improve the results of the treatment for non-small-cell lung cancer.
