View clinical trials related to Intervertebral Disc Degeneration.
Filter by:The purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to assess and compare radiographic and clinical outcomes in patients who are to undergo combined interbody/posterolateral lumbar fusion procedures, supplemented with pedicle screw instrumentation, using one of the following interbody cages; the Medtronic Adaptix™ cage with roughened micro and nano-textured titanium surfaces or the CAPSTONE® poly-ether-ether-ketone cage.
Lumbar discectomy and injection of purified cellular bone marrow concentrate or lumbar discectomy only
The study intends tracking the usage patterns of a Bonegraft device within spine surgery in a multicenter setting in Canada.
The registry has been designed as a prospective, observational program for patients undergoing anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedures treated with TIDAL cervical interbody fusion device. The ultimate goal of the study is to aid in the development of treatment pathways and improved patient care. All patients who agree to participate in the registry will sign an informed consent form and subsequently be treated by their surgeon with the device in either an inpatient or outpatient facility.
In recent years there has been an increase in interest from surgeons in the use of synthetic bone graft substitutes to avoid the need of sourcing allograft or iliac crest autograft for use in spinal fusion procedures. This will be an open label, prospective, first in man, single-centre clinical study to evaluate the safety and performance of Osteo3 ZP Putty synthetic bone graft in TLIF procedures with instrumented PLF. Safety and performance data obtained in this clinical study will be used to estimate clinical success rates achieved with the use of Osteo3 ZP Putty synthetic bone graft in TLIF procedures. No comparative control group is intended. The study is expected to run for approximately three years with each subject being followed up for a two- year post-operative period. The target is to recruit approximately 17 subjects to this clinical study, allowing for some subject attrition to get 15 evaluable.
Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) is a tool used by neurophysiologists during spine surgery to prevent irreversible damage to the spinal cord during procedures through a system of alerts. This study investigates the effectiveness of IONM in 300 participants receiving spine surgery. The goal of this study is to refine the alert criteria for procedures in which IONM is used.
PerQdisc PMCF1 is a post-market clinical follow-up observational trial to follow subjects receiving a PerQdisc spinal implant for a duration of 5 years.
Motor Evoked Potentials are an aspect of intraoperative neuromonitoring, a tool used by neurophysiologists during surgery to prevent irreversible damage to the spinal cord during procedures. This study investigates the utility of three separate quadriceps MEP recording approaches over a total of 40 limbs (20 participants).
The study aims to identify metabolites present in intervertebral discs colonized by C. acnes from patients with low back pain and degenerative disc disease, correlating them with their clinical, radiological and demographic profiles.
DREAM is a phase II B efficacy monocentric, prospective, randomized, controlled double blinded trial, comparing intra-discal autologous adult bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSC) therapy and sham treated controls in subjects with chronic (> 6 months) Low Back Pain (LBP) due to lumbar multilevel (max. 3 levels) intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) unresponsive to conventional therapy. Duration of the recruitment period has been estimated to be 12 months. The efficacy of intradiscal injection of autologous BM-MSC in reducing chronic LBP due to multilevel lumbar IDD will be evaluated after 24 months in terms of pain relief (VAS), functionality (ODI) and quality of life (SF36).
