Filter by:The main outcome measures are the number of dominant follicles (≥13 mm) on the day of hCG trigger and the number of mature (MII) oocytes collected after conventional versus delayed-start ovarian stimulation protocol. Secondary outcome measures are including total number of oocytes retrieved, oocyte maturity rate (number of MII oocytes/total number of oocytes), oocyte yield (total number of oocytes retrieved/ antral follicle count [AFC]), mature oocyte yield (number of mature oocytes retrieved/AFC), total dosage of gonadotropin (recombinant FSH and/or highly purified hMG) needed, number of days needed for ovarian stimulation, quality of obtained embryos, fertilization rate (the proportion of total number of two-pronuclear [2PN] stage zygotes /per total injected MII oocytes), implantation rate (total number of observed gestational sac/ number of transferred embryos) and clinical pregnancy rate (presence of fetal heart beat by transvaginal ultrasound per embryo transfer).
This study evaluated the effects of preoperative anxiety and dosage of anesthesia on IVF success. Half of participants according to the recorded Beck's Anxiety Inventory (BAI) score: a low-anxiety group, while the other half high-anxiety group.
This will be a prospective, randomized (1:1 ratio) clinical trial for non-male factor infertility in advanced maternal age with or without intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI). Qualified 1422 patients are randomized into either of two groups: group A will undergo conventional in-vitro fertilization(IVF)(711 cases), Group B will undergo intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) (711 cases). All participants will receive the same protocol for ovarian stimulation and standardized luteal phase support. The target population will be patients with non-male factor infertility aged ≥38years with FSH ≤15. Women with other reasons of infertility (eg. anovulation, endometriosis, and premature ovarian failure) are excluded. The randomization will take place before controlled ovarian stimulation by a computer randomization system. The accumulated live birth rate , pregnancy complications will be followed up by checking medical records and telephone calls.
Poor sleep quality may lead to increase in oxidative stress and free radicals which in turn may decrease the reproductive function. Many researchers have already proven improvement on reproductive function after antioxidant (melatonin) administration. The investigators wish to study the relationship between unexplained, young poor ovarian responder and oxidative stress.
This study is a prospective randomized trial with 242 IUI cycles. Patients are randomized in two groups including 121 cycles in each group. A total of 255 cycles in 167 patients are finally recruited. In the first group, the patients will be treated with triptorelin (Gonapeptyl®) in their luteal phase. As for the other group, the patients will undergo the luteal phase without any supportive medication. This study is going to clarify the role of the gonadotropin agonist (triptorelin acetate, Gonapeptyl®) as a luteal phase supporter. The benefit of the treatment is measured by the numbers in the live birth and clinical pregnancy rates.
The hysteroscopy used was rigid continuous flow diagnostic hysteroscopy (Tuttligen, Karl Storz, Germany). It has a 30o panoramic optic which is 4mm in diameter and the diagnostic continuous flow outer sheath is 6.5 mm in diameter. The patient was placed in lithotomy position with the buttocks projecting slightly beyond the table edge. A reflex camera (Olympus) with an objective that has a focal length varies from f70 to f140 together with (Karl Storz) special zoom length, adapter to Hopkins telescope and a suitable cableware used with computer flash unit. The hysteroscopic picture which appeared through the optic, transmitted on the monitor by the camera which is fitted on the eyepiece of the optic where the panoramic diagnostic hysteroscopy could be informed with better visualization and accuracy. The light generator which is a metal halide automatic light source with a 150 watt lamp (model G71A,Circon ACMI, Germany) was switched on and the high cable was attached to the hysteroscope. Dilatation of the cervix was avoided whenever possible to avoid leakage of the medium into the vagina. The hysteroscope was then introduced into the external os and advanced under vision along the axis of cervical canal. Once the cavity was entered, an overview of the uterine cavity was performed. This was followed by systematic examination for fundus then tubal ostia on both sides then the uterine wall through slow rotatory movements of the telescope. Diagnostic laparoscopy was done in the proliferative phase of the menstrual cycle .The patients were placed in the dorsal lithotomy position to allow vaginal access for uterine manipulation; the legs positioned so that the thighs are slightly flexed no more than 90o from the plane of the abdomen. The patient was placed in the complete horizontal position, Veress needle was placed through the umbilicus and into the peritoneal cavity, the primary trocar with sleeve (5mm in diameter) was placed at a similar angle in to the Veress needle. Secondary trocars were used, 2 secondary trocars were placed. The trocars were placed laterally, approximately 8 cm from the midline and 8 cm above the pubic symphysis to avoid the epigastric, vessels which are 5.5 cm from the midline at this level. This study will be conducted at the In vitro fertilization Unit at Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital. Women will be recruited from the In vitro fertilization Unit who will fulfill the inclusion criteria. They will be counseled to be included into the study The study will assess Role of Ratio of Progesterone to Number of Follicles as a Prognostic Tool for Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection outcome.
The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between infertility blood test results and outcomes of pregnancy and alive birth of women who underwent with or without intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) before in vitro fertilization.
It has been previously shown that although the activation of the embryonic genome can begin as early as two days of initiation of the embryonic development (D2), it is expressed on day 3 (D3). Without this activation, the embryo can not continue its development. Therefore, it has been suggested that extended culture to blastocyst stage could be an option to identify and better select embryos that have been able to carry out this activation. The purpose of this study is to compare cumulative pregnancy and live birth rates following transfer of cleavage embryos or blastocysts.
