Filter by:Dentin hypersensitivity (DH) can be defined as acute, short-duration pain from open dentin tubules in exposed dentin. The symptom of DH is subjective and varies from patient to patient and may present as mild discomfort or as a high-intensity pain, which can affect the individual's quality of life, interfering with their eating and hygiene habits. One approach to treatment would be the use of agents that chemically desensitize sensory nerves, blocking the transmission of nerve stimuli to the central nervous system. The effectiveness of desensitizing treatments is influenced by several factors present in the oral cavity, which can contribute to a greater effect of these agents but can also be responsible for removing them from the dental surface. To date, studies have been carried out in the short term, not exceeding an average period of 12 weeks, so there is no consensus on the technique or agent that will guarantee the most effective and lasting effect against DH, not even the ideal period for reapplication. Thus, more studies are needed to assess the clinical behavior of desensitizing products on the market, especially the most recent releases. Therefore, the aim of this study was to clinically compare the effectiveness of different office treatments for DH, being ClinproTM White Varnish, ClinproTM XT Varnish, and a control group (placebo) through pain assessment with the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), after stimulation with air from the triple syringe.
Subjects will be enrolled into 3 balanced groups each using a different strength toothpaste. Dental hypersensitivity (DHS) will be assessed at study start, midway and study end.

Cow's milk allergy (CMA) is the most common Food Allergy (FA) in children, and the essential strategy in prevention is avoiding the allergens that may cause potentially life-threatening reactions. The primary developmental task of early childhood is the creation of healthy eating habits. The diagnosis of FA in this period can lead to permanent changes in the life of the child and her family. In early childhood, parents are often responsible for all aspects of FA management because children are too young to understand the complexity of avoiding allergens. Children often do not have the skills to implement FA management. Parents are advised to follow a special weaning diet, avoiding any type of cow's milk, usually at least 1 year old. However, depending on the clinical improvement, it can be recommended to continue this exclusion diet for much longer. Thus, many children have to exclude a large group of food from their diets, which is critical for their growth, development, and eating habits. This may raise mealtime behavioral anxiety in a child with a FA. Eating behavioral anxieties are also very common in healthy, typically developing children. Even 25% to 45% of normally developing children's parents report concerns about their child's nutritional and mealtime behaviors, including the destructive child behaviors (eg., refusal of foods, food selectivity, and getting off the table). In children with food allergies, monitoring long-term growth after the diet is another important issue. Growth problems were reported in 21% of children with FA diagnosed with malnutrition. Most studies focused on the effect of changes in eating behavior on growth during an elimination diet or in short term intervals. Its long-term effects have only been analyzed in a few studies. We aimed to investigate the eating behaviors, nutritional status, and growth of young children (ages of 2 to 6) who had a strict diet due to CMA in early childhood (ages of 0-2).
This is a phase II, single arm, multi-centre study to assess the efficacy of pembrolizumab in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy (investigator's choice: carboplatin + gemcitabine or carboplatin + pegylated liposomal doxorubicin) administered concurrent to chemotherapy and in maintenance, in patients with low grade ovarian cancer (including patients with primary peritoneal and / or fallopian tube adenocarcinoma) having platinum-sensitive relapse (platinum-free interval > 6 months).

PARP inhibitors have changed the treatment paradigm of ovarian cancer. Most patients using PARP(poly-ADP ribose polymerase) inhibitors will suffer different grades of adverse events(AEs), followed by dose reduction. It has not been reported whether the dose-reduced olaparib as maintenance treatment have an impact on efficacy. Both PAOLA-1 and AVANOVA 2 studies showed that combined PARP inhibitors and antiangiogenic drugs have synergistic anti-tumor effect. Anlotinib is a novel multi-target tyrosine kinase inhibitor that can inhibit VEGFR(vascular endothelial growth factor receptor), FGFR(fibroblast growth factor receptor), PDGFR(platelet-derived growth factor receptor) α/β, c-Kit, and Ret. And anlotinib has been approved as orphan drug designations for treatment of ovarian cancer by FDA in 2015. Previous studies showed that anlotinib had manageable toxicity and promising antitumor effect. Our study is expected to investigate the efficacy and safety of anlotinib combined with dose-reduced olaparib as maintenance treatment in platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer patients.
The aim is to evaluate exercise capacity, respiratory functions, respiratory and peripheral muscle strength, inspiratory muscle endurance, physical activity level, quality of life, fatigue, dyspnea, anxiety, depression and investigate the impact of 24-session pulmonary rehabilitation training on these parameters in patients with chronic fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
Oral immunotherapy is effective in desensitized food allergy. Shrimp allergy is increasing in Thailand. So the purpose of our study is to determine level of specific immunoglobulin E antibodies to shrimp, Immunoglobulin G4 and immunoblot analysis in shrimp allergy patients after shrimp oral immunotherapy.
This study is a multicentric, prospective, randomized, double blind, placebo controlled trial compared the efficacy of 6 months vs. 3 months of initial prednisolone therapy in decreasing the incidence of FRNS with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome in children age 1 year up to 6 years. Three months tapering prednisolone or placebo are administrated follow by open-label 3 months standard prednisolone therapy.The cumulative incidence of FRNS and adverse events for one year were evaluated in the 3-month and 6-month groups.
