SCHF Post-Op Study Between Opioid and Non-Opioid Pain Management

This purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of nonopioid versus opioid analgesic regimens following surgical fixation of Gartland Type III Supracondylar Humoral Fractures (SCHFs) to assist in the development of a standard outpatient pain management regimen in the treatment of these injuries.

Post-operative Pain Management in Children With Supracondylar Humerus Fractures

There are two common and concurrently used strategies for pain management following surgical treatment of supracondylar humerus (elbow) fractures in children: opioids vs over the counter pain medications. The purpose of this study is to determine if ibuprofen and acetaminophen can provide similar or better pain relief compared to ibuprofen and hydrocodone/acetaminophen (also known as Hycet) for this population of children after they have been discharged. If over the counter medications can provide adequate pain relief, then fewer opioid prescriptions would be necessary. This reduces early opioid exposure and decreases unnecessary opioids in circulation.

This is an international, single arm, multicenter, prospective, non-significant risk, Post-Market Clinical Follow-up (PMCF) study. Data will be collected for the commercially available AEQUALIS FLEX REVIVE shoulder system in both the anatomic and reversed configurations. The purpose of this study is to collect data needed to satisfy the European Union (EU) Medical Device Regulation (MDR) clinical post-market surveillance (PMS) and reporting requirements, and to support future regulatory submissions and peer-reviewed publications on device performance and safety.

Open reduction and internal fixation has been widely used in treating completely displaced and rotated lateral condylar fracture in children and it usually produces good results. Only a few studies reported Closed reduction and internal fixation is an effective treatment for completely displaced and rotated lateral condyle fractures of the humerus, but evidence on its effectiveness and safety is scarce. The aim of the trial was to compare functional and outcome use in patients treated completely displaced and rotated lateral condylar fracture with ORIF versus CRIF.

Humeral intercondylar fractures are very challenging in clinical treatment. There are many problems not clear. One of the important problems remained to be solved is which fixation method can achieve the best effects after olecranon osteotomy. Therefore, the investigators are going to perform a retrospective analysis of patients with distal humerus fractures admitted to their hospital in 2012-2017 to compare the functional outcomes of elbow joints with tension-band fixation and plate fixation after olecranon osteotomy.
