The purpose of the feasibility study is to investigate hearing performance (audiometry and speech perception) using the CI624 in a group of adults (n=15) with low-frequency residual hearing who meet inclusion criteria.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the non-inferiority and new features of an external speech processor for cochlear implant recipients. Participants: This study seeks to enroll 15 cochlear implant recipients listening to previous technology. Procedures (methods): Subjects will be programmed and tested with old and new technology.
The main objective of this study is to evaluate the correspondence between eCochG and residual hearing by adding two modifications. First, a novel technique for placing and maintaining the probe in place during the whole insertion will be used. Second, a new metric for estimating the eCochG response will be evaluated (eCochG trauma index). The secondary objective is to find other markers of the cochlear trauma insertion associated to eCochG measures. This will be used to evaluate to which extend a traumatic insertion will be deleterious for the patient's post-operative hearing, and ultimately to prevent trauma to the inner ear. Finally, the potential differences in cochlear trauma resulting of the electrode array insertion from two different surgery techniques will be investigated; Either using a manual insertion or using a robotic arm that will drive the insertion automatically.
Hearing loss is a critical health concern in the rapidly aging population, affecting approximately 22 million older individuals in the United States. Yet, only 30% of individuals who would benefit from the use of hearing aids regularly use them. This project aims to improve the benefit of hearing aids for older adults through incorporation of objective neural measures to assess effects of hearing aid algorithms.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the interaural time difference (ITD) benefit in patient with bilateral cochlear implants and to assess speech performance in noisy conditions compared to normal hearing listeners. Half of participants are bilateral cochlear implants users, while the other are normal hearing listeners.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of mindfulness and placebo treatments on hearing improvement. More specifically, the researchers will be investigating whether the following variables impact the effectiveness of placebo treatment such as: mindfulness, and attention to variability. Extant research has found the effectiveness of psychological treatment in multiple domains, and the researchers look to further investigate this success in the domain of hearing symptom sensations.
The purpose of this proposed study is to examine the benefits of using electropalatography (EPG) during speech therapy with adult individuals who are either congenitally deaf or adventitiously deaf and use a cochlear implant.
