Filter by:The purpose of this study is to assess the interaction between aspirin and Nexium in healthy volunteers.
This open-label study will assess the effects of hepatic impairment on the pharmacokinetics of a single oral dose of aleglitazar in subjects with mild or moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh class A or B) and in matched control subjects with normal hepatic function. Subjects will receive a single oral dose of aleglitazar, with assessment of the pharmacokinetics of aleglitazar on Days 1-5. Anticipated duration of study for each enrolled subject is approximately 6 weeks.

This open-label, fixed sequence, two-period study will assess the effect of memantine on the pharmacokinetics, safety and tolerability of a single oral dose of RO5313534 and the effect of RO5313534 on safety and tolerability of steady-state memantine. Healthy volunteers will receive a single oral dose of RO5313534 on Day 1 of Treatment Period 1 (3 days). After a washout period of 5-21 days, oral memantine will be administered on Days 1-21 of Treatment Period 2 and a single dose of RO5313534 on Day 19. There will be a follow-up of 3-4 weeks after the last dose. Anticipated time on study for each volunteer is up to 14 weeks.
Background: - Seasonal influenza is a major health problem whose impact is typically reduced by vaccination. The H1N1 (swine flu) influenza virus is an emerging pathogen that has the potential to cause devastating illness and even death in the coming months. Currently, there are limited data on the cellular and molecular immune responses in adult recipients of either the seasonal or the H1N1 influenza vaccines. Objectives: - To obtain blood and nasal wash samples and perform laboratory studies to characterize the immune response in healthy adult volunteers at baseline and after immunization with the seasonal or H1N1 influenza vaccines. Eligibility: - Adult employees at least 18 years of age of the NIH Clinical Center who are deemed healthy by a brief medical history and physical examination and routine blood testing. Design: - Before the start of the influenza season, volunteers will receive either the seasonal influenza vaccine or the H1N1 vaccine when it becomes available. If the H1N1 vaccine is available at the start of the season, volunteers will receive both the seasonal vaccine and the H1N1 vaccine. - Blood will be drawn over an 8-week period. Volunteers must not eat anything for 8 hours prior to the blood draw. The sequence of the blood draws is as follows: 2 weeks before vaccination; right before vaccination; and 1, 7, 14, 28, and 60 days after vaccination. - Two to four nasal washings will be collected by a nurse before volunteers receive the vaccination(s) and 28 days after the vaccination. - Prevaccine and postvaccine blood and nasal wash samples will be compared to determine volunteers immune responses. - Research samples will be stored indefinitely and will be used strictly for laboratory experiments.
The study aims to descibe the pharmacokinetics of 10 substrates of enzymes involved in drug metabolism and their metabolites, after administration singly and simultaenously at predefined doses in 10 health volunteers.
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study will investigate the safety and tolerability, and the effect of aleglitazar in combination with ibuprofen on renal function, renin-angiotensin system and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers. Volunteers will be randomized to receive daily doses of aleglitazar or placebo in combination with ibuprofen. The anticipated time on study drug is 5 weeks.

Evaluation of the multiple dose pharmacokinetics of PF-3715455 in healthy volunteers
This non-randomized, multi-center, open-label study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics and the safety and tolerability of danoprevir (RO5190591) and ritonavir in healthy volunteers and patients with mild, moderate or severe hepatic impairment. Participants will be administered repeated daily doses of danoprevir and ritonavir. The anticipated time on study treatment is 10 days.
