Filter by:comparison between fistulectomy wound closure and fistulotomw wound marsupialization in treatment of simple anal fistula
In treatment of perianal fistula several methods are described. However, since the Hippocrates basics of surgical treatment has not changed very much. the aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of PRP gel in treatment of perianal fistula.
Laser closure of the perianal fistula is the minimally invasive and low complication rate procedure which is a life-saving way for complex fistulas, preserving anal sphincter injury. Unfortunately, wide range success rate reported before (30-80%), the investigators are searching to reach better rates. Internal closure of the fistula orifice offered by some authors. The investigators are aimed to identify the efficiency of this.
An anal fistula is an abnormal communication between the luminal surface of the anorectal canal and the perianal skin. Fistulas can vary in their complexity and can be challenging to treat, due to the anatomical relation to the anal sphincter complex that controls continence. In addition, fistulas can display complex features such as branches, cavities and horseshoes; where the tract travels radially around the anal canal. All these features have a role in determining the most appropriate surgical treatment option, and are key to understanding the surgical decision-making process. This study will determine patient understanding of fistula anatomy, their perception of their own understanding, their rating of how good their clinician's explanation is and how this impacts the decision-making process using standard explanation with 2D images, versus a 3D printed model of a fistula.
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety of using an autologous mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) coated fistula plug in people with fistulizing Crohn's disease. Autologous means these cells to coat the plug come from the patient.
The investigators aim to assess the efficacy of the Curaseal anal plug in patients with idiopathic uncomplicated fistulous tracts. Healing of the fistula tract will be assessed both clinically and radiologically with MR imaging.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether treatment with laser coagulation is an effective and safe treatment option for patients with anal fistula
This study is designed to assess the effectiveness of porcine cross-linked collagen paste for the treatment of patients with ano-rectal abscess with underlying cryptoglandular fistula in ano.
In various transanal and anal procedures it is desirable to clean the operating field from stool contamination. Thus mechanical bowel preparation is not well tolerated by patients. Enema does not provide sufficient effect. By the use of Coloshield a rectal washout might be performed and enable a clean operating field. In this randomized controlled trial the macroscopic contamination of the rectum with and without Coloshield is compared using the Boston Bowel Preparation Score (0-3).
This clinical trial will evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Strattice-LIFT procedure to treat anal fistulas.
