Filter by:The goal of this observational study is to evaluate the ocular effects of Bonzai (synthetic cannabinoids) with spectral-domain optical coherence tomography. Researchers will compare eye findings in patients who have previously used Bonzai with a healthy control group to see if there are ocular effects.
The goal of this observational study is to to assess the ocular microvascular status of SLE patients with inactive disease and without ocular involvement. The main questions it aims to answer are: - the choroidal vascular status and thickness in SLE - the retinal macular microvascular status and structure in SLE Participants will be assessed with Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT). Researchers will compare SLE patients with healthy controls matched for age and sex.
The purpose of the research is to see if Upneeq ( oxymetazoline 0.1% ophthalmic solution) has an effect on eyelid position, eye redness, or patient-perceived appearance of the eyes.
Observational, comparative, cross-sectional study
This study aims to gain knowledge on the duration of symptom relief of environmental disorders of the eye as might be present in allergy sufferers after allergen exposure following application of the study products. Additionally, the extent of symptom relief as well as tolerability of this topic treatment will be evaluated.
The advancement in life-saving technologies and clinical expertise in the care of extremely premature infants, have resulted in the development of large neonatal intensive care units (NICU). It has been suggested that reconstruction of megaunits of neonatal intensive care to smaller care units with specific patient population and clinical team providers will be essential to maintain optimal teamwork, quality of care and patient outcome. Despite the growing knowledge around the need for reconstruction of large NICUs to smaller units of care, there is no evidence regarding the safety and efficacy of microsystem model of care on the key aspects of health care. At the McMaster Children's Hospital (MCH), we planned a change from standard model of care to the microsystem model of care and therefore we aimed to prospectively assess the effect of this organizational change on the variable aspects of health care. A working group met weekly to formulate the implementation planning, to review the adaptation and adjustment process and to ascertain the quality of implementation following the initiation of the microsystem model. The study was retrospectively registered.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of optical coherence tomography imaging integrated with an operating microscope (MIOCT) in ophthalmic surgeries.
Cystic fibrosis(CF) is an inherited disease affecting children, adolescents and young adults with dysfunction of secretory glands. It is caused by mutations in the protein-coding gene which function as the cystic fibrosis transmembrane regulator (CFTR), responsible for the secretion of chloride ions in epithelial cells, adenocytes, sweat gland cells, pancreatic ducts, alimentary and respiratory tracts and eye. Assessment of the relationship between the inflammatory processes and apoptosis in the eye in the course of cystic fibrosis will allow determination of immunological exponents which may facilitate diagnosis.
