Zirconia Implants: Practice-based Evidence

SDS
Start date: April 28, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is a prospective case series clinical study to examine the effectiveness of Ceramic dental implants manufactured by Swiss Dental Solutions (SDS). Participants with an indication from the dentist for teeth extraction and replacement are invited to participate in this study. Participating in this study will involve the use of dental implants manufactured by Swiss Dental Solutions (SDS zirconia dental implants), submission of the case data, including pre-operative information, intra-operative details, and post-operative follow-up data, to the study site and its collaborating partners. The SDS zirconia dental implants used in this research are FDA cleared devices that are available for dental treatments.

Accuracy of Dynamic Navigation System on Zygomatic Implant Placement

Start date: November 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study consists in a randomized controlled trial which objective is to assess the accuracy of a dynamic navigation system in zygomatic implant placement in partially or total edentulous patients in the upper jaw compared with the conventional freehand method.

NCT ID: NCT06150768 Recruiting - Dental Implants Clinical Trials

Porcelain-fused-to-metal Versus Zirconia Implant- Supported in Mandibular Kennedy Class II

Start date: November 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to compare biting force and patient satisfaction in three groups. Patients in the control group number one will receive a CoCr removable partial denture, and in the other two groups, implants will be inserted to restore missed posterior teeth (second mandibular premolar and second mandibular molar) in the span area. After three months, implants will be loaded with three units of anatomical PFM-fixed partial dentures in group number two, while in group number three, implants will be loaded with three units of anatomical Zirconia-fixed partial dentures. Biting force will be measured bilaterally at the time of delivery of the removable partial denture and delivery of fixed partial dentures after two, four, and six months. Patient satisfaction will be assessed through a quality-of life questionnaire at the six-months recall appointment

NCT ID: NCT06100120 Recruiting - Dental Implants Clinical Trials

A Triple-blinded Non-inferiority Multicentre Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing Hybrid and Fully Etched Implants P1

Start date: November 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomized controlled clinical trial is to compare implant stability between hybrid implants and fully rough implants in partially edentulous patients. The main question it aims to answer is: are hybrid implants able to achieve a sufficient level of secondary stability in comparison to fully etched implants? Participants will receive dental implants and the secondary stability will be measured using resonance frequency analysis (RFA) at the 2-month post-implant placement mark. Implants that do not attain adequate secondary stability will undergo re-evaluation at monthly intervals up to 6 months. Researchers will compare the test group (hybrid implants) or the control group (fully rough implants) to see if they present a comparable secondary stability.

NCT ID: NCT06028750 Recruiting - Dental Implants Clinical Trials

Dynamic Navigation vs. the Freehand Method

Start date: March 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to evaluate in novice surgeons the accuracy of the X-Guide® navigation system (X-Guide®, X-Nav Technologies®, Pennsylvania, USA) in implant placement compared to freehand implant placement.

NCT ID: NCT05941663 Recruiting - Microbiota Clinical Trials

Microbiome Development in the Early Healing of Osseointegrated Implants

PiMicrobiome
Start date: September 28, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim is to compare the microbiome composition on the first month of healing and 2 years after rehabilitation in two different implant surfaces (SLA® vs SLActive®). Subjects in need of two or more dental implants (canine to molars) in two different quadrants will be included so that, one study test (SLActive®) and one study control (SLA®) implant will be placed in different quadrants in healed extraction sites. Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) samples will be taken for microbiome analysis at different time points. Samples will be processed using high throughput sequencing technologies (Illumina® MiSeq) and the raw sequencing reads will be processed with the Quantitative Insights Into Microbial Ecology (QIIME2) pipeline. DADA2 will be used for quality trimming and inferring amplicon sequence variants (ASVs). Taxonomy will be assigned to ASVs using the Naive Bayesian Classifier integrated in QIIME2 plugins and the eHOMD RefSeq database. Alpha-diversity and Beta diversity will be calculated and measured. Differences in bacterial abundance will be analyzed using linear models for differential abundance analysis (LinDA). This is the long-term follow-up of the randomized clinical trial entitled "Randomized controlled study to evaluate the clinical behavior of dental implants with SLActive® surface vs. SLA® surface" Promoter Code: CR 2017-05, Internal Code: 18/580-R_P, Promoter: Institute Straumann AG. In this new protocol, the participants included in the clinical trial at the Complutense University of Madrid will be selected, who will undergo a new follow-up visit at 2 years, to measure the clinical, radiographic and microbiological situation. periodontal treatment without any additional intervention. In addition, it is intended to analyze the microbiome of the samples of gingival crevicular fluid that we have frozen from the patients of the UCM, as well as of the samples that are taken after two years. All these changes are promoted by our ETEP (Etiology and Therapeutics of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases) research group, independently of the original sponsor of the study.

NCT ID: NCT05748379 Recruiting - Dental Anxiety Clinical Trials

Atraumatic Zirconia Abutment Versus Customized Composite Healing Abutment in Maxilla or Mandible.

Start date: November 30, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

40 patients are included in the study, 20 patients in group 1 (=closure with composite material shaper; test group) and 20 patients in group 2 (=closure with custom-made zirconia oxide abutment; control group). Randomisation envelopes will be used for randomisation. Device under study: Straumann BLX, Roxolid® , SLActive® dental implants with a diameter of 3.5, 3.75, 4, 4.5 mm are used. Allogenic bone botiss maxgraft® cortical granules are used as graft material. Inclusion criteria: 1. Males and females at least 18 years of age or older. 2. One implant per patient. 3. Prior to any study-related activity, the subject must voluntarily sign informed consent, be willing and able to attend scheduled follow-up visits, and agree to the collection and analysis of pseudonymised data. 4. Lateral individual teeth (premolars and molars). 5. Class I extraction socket (intact buccal wall) or class II (1/3 of buccal wall). 6. The gingival contour of the tooth to be extracted - without recession. 7. Adjacent anterior teeth have no periodontal loss. 8. There are no implants in the adjacent teeth. 9. Non-traumatic tooth extraction, which results in intact walls of the socket. Exclusion criteria: 1. Deep occlusion (severe, class II). 2. The patient smokes a lot (more than 10 cigarettes per day). 3. Systemic disease (osteoporosis). 4. No initial stability has been achieved after the implant insertion procedure.

NCT ID: NCT05644470 Recruiting - Dental Implants Clinical Trials

Association of Implant Position and Crown Contour With Tissue Health

Start date: October 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Emergence profile and crown contour of implant supported rehabilitation, which is influenced by implant position, is associated with peri-implant health and esthetic outcomes. However, there is no study prospectively explore the association between implant position, emergence profile/crown contour, and dental implant outcomes. Thus, the present study aims to (1) assess the multivariate association between local factors and peri-implant soft-tissue health, inflammation, and microbiome; and (2) to identify patterns/clusters of implant characteristics significantly associated with health or inflammation.
