Filter by:The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in December 2019, and in mere months has spread to more than 104 countries, resulting in an outbreak of viral pneumonia worldwide. Current local quarantine policy in Hong Kong for individuals suspected for COVID-19 requires daily self-reported symptomatology and body temperature, given the intermittent nature and the high dependency of self-discipline undermine the practicality of the approach. To date, the advance in sensor technology has made possible to continuously monitor individual physiological parameters using a simple wearable device. Together with the mobile wearable technology that allowing instantaneous, multi-directional, and massive data transfer, remote continuous physiological monitoring is made possible. The Cardiology division, the Univeristy of Hong Kong has been in collaboration with Biofourmis to implement such technology for remote heart failure management. Similar digital therapeutic system can be applied to remotely monitor physiological parameters of large number of quarantined or suspected COVID-19 at home or in quarantine facility. It is purposed to allow the monitoring team to effectively and remotely monitor COVID-19 quarantined and patients, manage and evaluate the disease progression.
Cross-sectional study based on a French national survey aimed to described and identify the most frequent symptoms of COVID-19 older patients.
The present study is a randomized clinical trial, with the approval of the ethics committee will be conducted on patients who have a positive test confirming COVID-19 in Loghman Hakim Medical Education Center in Tehran. Patients will be randomly assigned to the three arms of the study and after completing the course of treatment and collecting and analyzing the necessary information from each patient, the results of the study will be published both on this site and in the form of an article in a reputable international journal.
- This is a single arm phase IIa study of convalescent plasma for the treatment of individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 infection. - Subjects will be considered as having completed the study after 60 (+/- 3) days, unless consent withdrawal or death occurs first. - Interim analysis will be permitted as described in the statistical section 8. - The final analysis will be conducted once the last subject completes the day 60 visit or withdraws from the study.
Abstract The objective of this study is to review, through prospective case research, the efficacy of oral chlorine dioxide in the treatment of patients with COVID infection 19. The research will be carried out between April and June 2020 with a quasi-experimental design in two health care centers on a sample of twenty (20) patients, through direct intervention, who will measure the changes in the manifest symptoms of infection and negativity. a COVID 19 after administration of the study preparation, to determine the effectiveness of chlorine dioxide in the treated group. Based on the results that are found and on the evaluation of efficacy on the basis of clinical improvement on a scale of 1 to 5, and of the negativization of COVID 19, we can conclude whether the therapeutic efficacy in this investigation is considered good by verifying whether or not there is efficacy of treatment with chlorine dioxide in COVID 19. With this research, it is hoped to stimulate the search for new therapeutic options in the treatment of COVID 19 and contribute to the development of NEW options in medications, considering the immense number of deaths and morbidity that currently exists in the present pandemic. The purpose of this study is 1) to understand effects of COVID-19 crisis on wellness of pulmonary and critical care faculty and trainees who are at frontline fighting this pandemic 2) Assess the effectiveness of series of weekly web based crisis management coaching from world renowned experts in coaching and 3) identify future areas of opportunities in physician wellness
There is significant interest throughout the United States in performing a well-designed study to evaluate whether there is value in using Hydroxychloroquine or Chloroquine as a pre-exposure prophylaxis or post-exposure prophylaxis regimen for COVID-19 patients and at risk personnel. We have designed a prospective double blinded randomized controlled clinical trial to answer just this question. The study will consist of 4 arms: 1. A placebo control arm of 450 patients 2. A low dose prophylaxis arm of 450 patients treated with 200mg Hydroxychloroquine daily 3. A high dose prophylaxis arm of 450 patients treated with 400mg Hydroxychloroquine daily 4. A post-exposure arm of 100 patients treated with 400mg Hydroxychloroquine daily for 7 days.

The current containment linked to COVID-19 will have consequences for people suffering from addiction and there is a risk of overdoses when the containment ends. So the investigators hypothesize that this health crisis is an opportunity to develop risk reduction and access to care for vulnerable people who lives with an addiction. The main objective of this study is to describe the changes in the psychoactive substances consumption during the containment in people suffering from addiction. The secondary objectives are to describe the evolution at 1 month from the end of the containment of problematic consumption and the level of access to care of these users
The purpose of this study is to collect blood from previously COVID-19 infected persons who have recovered and use it as a treatment for those who are currently sick with a severe or life-threatening COVID-19 infection.
