NCT ID: NCT04576091 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Recurrent Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Testing the Addition of an Anti-cancer Drug, BAY 1895344, With Radiation Therapy to the Usual Pembrolizumab Treatment for Recurrent Head and Neck Cancer

Start date: July 6, 2022
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This phase I trial evaluates the best dose, possible benefits and/or side effects of combination therapy with elimusertib (BAY 1895344), stereotactic body radiation, and pembrolizumab in treating patients with head and neck squamous cell cancer that has come back (recurrent) and cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). BAY 1895344 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Stereotactic body radiation therapy uses special equipment to position a patient and deliver radiation to tumors with high precision. This method may kill tumor cells with fewer doses over a shorter period and cause less damage to normal tissue. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving BAY 1895344, stereotactic body radiation therapy in combination with pembrolizumab may shrink or stabilize head and neck squamous cell cancer for longer than treatment with radiation and immunotherapy without BAY 1895344.

NCT ID: NCT04574635 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Recurrent Cervical Carcinoma

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Circulating Tumor DNA (ctDNA) in Cervical Cancer

Start date: November 17, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study collects blood samples to determine if the DNA of HPV that causes cervical cancer can be detected in patients with cervical cancer that is new (primary), has come back (recurrent), or has spread to other places in the body (metastatic) and are undergoing treatment with surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and/or immunotherapy. Researchers may use this information to predict response (good or bad) of the cervical cancer to treatment and detect recurrent cancer sooner.

NCT ID: NCT04572100 Completed - Clinical trials for Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Pilot Study of Chemotherapy for HPV-Associated Oropharyngeal Cancer

Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Doctors leading this study will give blood tests to head and neck cancer participants during the beginning of chemotherapy treatment (also known as induction therapy) to see if these blood tests can help predict tumor shrinkage after therapy and reduce the amount of additional radiotherapy or chemotherapy treatment the participant may need. This study will also examine ways to reduce overall side effects of treatment using robotic surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, or radiotherapy alone.

NCT ID: NCT04568200 Completed - Clinical trials for Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Study of Anti-PD-L1 in Combination With Chemo(Radio)Therapy for Resectable Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Start date: June 19, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of preoperative treatment with durvalumab combined with neoajuvant therapy (carboplatin, paclitaxel with/without radiation) in locally advanced resectable oesophageal squamous carcinoma.

NCT ID: NCT04567056 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Specific Methylation Profiles in HNSCC

Start date: September 16, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In the study, N-20190047, the investigators aim to define specific methylation patterns in a group of patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinomas. With this study the investigators aim to validate these findings in a larger cohort.

NCT ID: NCT04564989 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Prospective Observational Study to Validate Circulating HPVDNA and Prognostic Genomic Biomarkers in HPV-associated OPSCC

Start date: November 19, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The primary goal of this study is to examine whether recurrence of HPV-associated OPSCC can be predicted by two factors: 1) mutations in genes called TRAF3 and CYLD, and 2) measurements of circulating HPV DNA in blood plasma. The study will also investigate whether HPV integration is associated with TRAF3 and CYLD mutations, and whether recurrence prediction improves when looking at HPV integration along with TRAF3 and CYLD mutations.

NCT ID: NCT04563754 Completed - Clinical trials for Anal High Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion

The Effectiveness of High Resolution Microendoscopy for People Living With HIV

Start date: July 30, 2019
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The investigators have developed a portable, battery-operated, mobile high-resolution microendoscope (mHRME) that provides subcellular images of the anal epithelium, delineating the cellular and morphologic changes associated with neoplasia. The investigators' central hypothesis is that this 'optical' approach will increase the efficiency, clinical impact, and cost-effectiveness of the current standard of high-resolution anoscopy(HRA)-guided biopsy, thus facilitating usage by less-experienced clinicians in community-based or low-resource settings. To validate this, the investigators will conduct a study to determine the efficiency and diagnostic characteristics of the mHRME 'optical biopsy' approach versus the current standard of HRA-based tissue biopsy. Successful results will allow for improved efficacy and resource utilization for cancer screening in people living with HIV for anal cancer and other epithelial cancers including the cervix, oral cavity, bladder, and GI tract.

NCT ID: NCT04555837 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Alisertib and Pembrolizumab for the Treatment of Patients With Rb-deficient Head and Neck Squamous Cell Cancer

Start date: September 15, 2020
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase I/II trial investigates the best dose and effect of alisertib in combination with pembrolizumab in treating patients with Rb-deficient head and neck squamous cell cancer. Alisertib may help block the growth of cancer.. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the tumor, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving alisertib in combination with pembrolizumab may help control Rb-deficient head and neck squamous cell cancer. HPV positive head and neck cancers are Rb-deficient.
