NCT ID: NCT00198315 Terminated - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Medpulser Electroporation With Bleomycin Study to Treat Anterior Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Start date: June 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to evaluate Medpulser electroporation (EPT) with bleomycin with regard to local tumor recurrence, disease-free survival, and overall survival rates versus surgery in recurrent or secondary primary squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the anterior oral cavity, soft palate, or tonsil.

NCT ID: NCT00197444 Completed - Esophageal Cancer Clinical Trials

Low-Dose Nedaplatin (CDGP:Cis-Diammine-Glycolatoplatinum)/5-FU Combined With Radiation for Esophageal Cancer

Start date: January 2003
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to clarify efficacy and toxicity of daily low-dose Nedaplatin (CDGP) and continuous infusion of 5-FU combined with radiation in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

NCT ID: NCT00195299 Completed - Clinical trials for Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Study Evaluating Temsirolimus in Advanced Stage Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head & Neck

Start date: April 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This is an open-label, exploratory, biomarker study of intravenous temsirolimus given once weekly for 3 weeks to newly diagnosed, advanced stage head and neck cancer subjects prior to beginning their standard therapy for their specific disease. The primary objective of this study is to identify biomarkers of temsirolimus activity.

NCT ID: NCT00195078 Terminated - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Safety Trial of IRESSA, Cisplatin and Radiation Therapy for Patients With Head and Neck Cancer

Start date: April 2004
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to find out whether adding ZD1839 to standard treatment (Cisplatin and Radiation Therapy) of unresectable head and neck cancers is better than cisplatin and radiation alone.

NCT ID: NCT00190554 Terminated - Clinical trials for Esophageal Neoplasms

A Trial of Chemotherapy Before and After Surgery for Stage II,III Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Start date: May 2000
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To determine whether chemotherapy before surgery makes better outcome than chemotherapy after surgery in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

NCT ID: NCT00188318 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Squamous Cell

Hardwins - Squamous Cell Carcinoma Head & Neck (Surgery/RT)

Start date: June 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is examining the effects of increasing the dose of radiation given to treat head and neck cancer. Radiation doses to the primary cancer are higher than usually given; lymph glands of the neck will also be treated at a lower dose. Surgery on the lymph glands my be necessary in the future. Radiation treatments given in small fractions twice a day allows a higher dose to be delivered than if the treatment was given once a day. This study will enroll patients at three sequential increasing dose levels. Approximately 40 patients will be enrolled at each dose level.

NCT ID: NCT00185835 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Cisplatin and ZD1839 + Re-Irradiation in Recurrent Squamous Cell Cancer of the Head and Neck

Start date: June 2002
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

To determine safety profile of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antagonist, ZD1839 in combination with cisplatin and radiation therapy in patients with local-regional recurrent squamous cell cancer of the head and neck. To study the effects of ZD1839 combined with either cisplatin or radiotherapy on signal transduction pathway gene expression in tumor cells in patients with local-regional recurrent squamous cell cancer of the head and neck using micro array analysis from tumor samples taken at the time of relapse and during treatment.

NCT ID: NCT00184028 Terminated - Clinical trials for Carcinoma of the Head and Neck

Combination of Taxotere and Oxaliplatin in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck

Start date: September 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This research study is for subjects with squamous cell cancer of the head and neck which is not solely treatable with surgery or radiation. This research study involves treatment with an experimental chemotherapy combination of oxaliplatin and Taxotere. Tha main purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of this combination of medications for this type of cancer. Approximately 54 subjects will take part in this study.

NCT ID: NCT00176267 Completed - Clinical trials for Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Paclitaxel, Carboplatin And Low Dose Radiation As Induction Therapy In Locally Advanced Head And Neck Cancer

Start date: September 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is being performed utilizing two cycles of Paclitaxel and Carboplatin, plus low doses radiation as initial therapy prior to other treatment (surgery or radiation). The study is assessing if utilization of low doses radiation as a chemoenhancer will further increase the response rate seen with initial therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00176254 Completed - Clinical trials for Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Paclitaxel, Carboplatin and Radiotherapy as Induction Therapy in Locally Advanced Head and Neck Cancer

Start date: May 2000
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study utilizes two cycles of Paclitaxel and Carboplatin chemotherapies followed by four small doses of radiation, prior to other treatment (surgery or radiation). This study is evaluating if radiation as a chemoenhancer increases the response rate of initial therapy.
