Filter by:Study comparing two regimens of nab-paclitaxel and carboplatin combination in elderly subjects (≥ 70 years old) with advanced NSCLC
The results of fastact2 show that chemotherapy plus erlotinib significantly prolonged PFS and OS of patients with NSCLC. However, outcome of the combination therapy are similar to those reported in several trials of single-agent EGFR TKIs. So which is the optimal first-line treatment for patients who harbored a sensitive EGFR mutation? The investigators need a head-to-head study to reply.
This is a study to assess the efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab (MK-3475/SCH 900475) compared to standard of care (SOC) platinum-based chemotherapies in the treatment of participants with previously untreated stage IV, programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) strong expressing Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). The primary hypothesis of this study is that participants with PD-L1 strong NSCLC will have a longer Progression Free Survival (PFS), as assessed by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version 1.1 (RECIST 1.1) when treated with pembrolizumab than when treated with SOC platinum-based chemotherapies. With Amendment 09 (20 December 2017), once participants have achieved the study objective or the study has ended, participants will be discontinued from this study and enrolled in an extension study to continue protocol-defined assessments and treatment.
Stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) is a new radiation treatment that delivers high-dose, precise radiation to small tumors in 1-3 weeks of treatment. The study combines SABR and surgery to treat non-small cell lung cancer. SABR will be done first, with surgery done approximately 10 weeks later. There will be some extra imaging done before and after the SABR. The purpose of this study is to determine how effective SABR is in killing the cancer cells, and if SABR can help make surgery more effective.
The objective of this proposal is to test the feasibility and acceptability of a lifestyle risk reduction intervention for patients with lung cancer receiving surgical treatment. This study will provide the preliminary data needed to conduct a larger randomized controlled trial that tests an innovative, multidisciplinary intervention that has the potential to transform the standard of care for patients receiving surgical treatment for lung cancer.
This multicenter, retrospective and prospective observational, cohort study will examine the effect of second-line Tarceva treatment on long response in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) participants with wild type or unknown EGFR status. Participants will be observed from the start of treatment for 8 months or until death. The extension of the retrospective versus prospective observation will depend on the lag between the date of the participant enrollment and the date of beginning of erlotinib therapy.
This study will evaluate feasibility and acceptability of providing the Dignity Therapy/Life Plan intervention to pancreatic or advanced lung cancer patients presenting for treatment in the outpatient medical oncology setting. Investigators hypothesize that providing dignity therapy to this population will be feasible.
In Japan, post-approval execution of post marketing surveillance (PMS) is requested by the Japanese Pharmaceutical Affairs Law (J-PAL) in order to accumulate safety and efficacy data for reexamination. Reexamination period is defined by J-PAL. Eight years after approval of a new substance, results of PMS need to be submitted as a part of reexamination dossier to the Japanese regulatory authority, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW).
This study will test whether a drug called BKM120/buparlisib is a safe and effective treatment when given to lung cancer patients having radiotherapy treatment. The trial will identify which of three possible doses of buparlisib is best to give with lung radiotherapy.
