Aim The aim is to test whether a short psychotherapeutic intervention targeting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms will have an additional positive effect on the outcomes of the Standard Multidisciplinary Program (SMP) against chronic back pain development.
Objective: The aim of this investigation was compare the effectiveness of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and interferential currents (IC) on chronic low back pain. Forty-eight patients diagnosed as having chronic low back pain were randomly assigned to three groups: control (sham electrotherapy; age 47 ± 8 years), interferential currents (IC; age 48 ± 8 years) and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS; age 48 ± 8 years). Patients in all groups received 12 × 30-min sessions of the assigned treatment for a period of 4 weeks plus therapeutic exercises. Before and after the treatment, low back pain was measured using a 100-mm visual analogue scale and functional disability level was measured using the Rolland Morris Disability Questionnaire. Participants status was followed up 3 months after the end of the treatment.
Chronic low back pain is a common condition that can negatively impact quality of life and that lacks highly effective treatment options. The YMCA developed different iterations of a stretching exercise program as a community based treatment for low back pain from 1974-2004. Though anecdotally successful, the YMCA stretching exercise program(s) was not scientifically evaluated for efficacy and became obsolete. The purpose of the study is to test the efficacy of a previously popular YMCA stretching exercise program(s) for back pain. The stretching exercise program that will be studied is a collection of all the resources available for the YMCA stretching exercise program(s). The most recent criteria from a National Institutes of Health sponsored Task Force to study chronic low back pain were applied to this study.
This study will investigate if a 12-week, individually-tailored walking program, using pedometers will be a more clinically and cost-effective option for the management of chronic low back pain than standardized advice and education.

Low back pain (LBP) is a complex and common problem with major societal repercussions. Clinical evaluations, and especially functional assessments, are necessary for proper diagnosis and decisions on the most appropriate treatment. The assessment of lumbar kinematics has been frequently described. For instance, measures of range of motion (ROM), angular velocities and acceleration of the total lumbar spine (TLx) have demonstrated some differences between healthy subjects and LBP patients. However, recent evidence has suggested that models evaluating the TLx are insufficient. In fact, regional differences in kinematics have been described between the upper lumbar spine and the lower lumbar spine. The aim of this study is to evaluate the differences in spinal kinematics between healthy subjects and LBP patients using a multi-segment model of the spine that allows regional analysis.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of pregabalin comparing with the conventional analgesic care in chronic low back pain patients with accompanying lower limb pain (neuropathic component) treated in primary care settings under routine clinical practice.
The investigators are studying whether MSM plus standard of care naproxen improves symptoms of lower back pain compared to standard of care naproxen plus placebo. Subjects will be randomized into 1 of 2 groups. Group 1 will take by mouth 6000 milligrams (mgs) of MSM plus standard of care naproxen. Group 2 will take by mouth placebo capsules plus standard of care naproxen. Subjects will be instructed to take their study pills for 12 weeks and record on a study diary. They will then be followed up for one final visit 4 weeks later. RMDQ, PIQ-6, pain level, comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), complete blood count (CBC) will be assessed at 4 week intervals for 12 weeks. Subjects' participation will last 16 weeks.
