A Study Comparing Infusion Rates of Tocilizumab in Patients With Moderate to Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis

Start date: May 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This 2 arm study will compare the incidence of tocilizumab-related infusion reactions, using 2 different infusion times, in patients with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis who have shown an inadequate response to DMARDs (Disease Modifying Anti Rheumatic Drugs) or anti-TNFs.Patients will be randomized to one of 2 groups, to receive tocilizumab 8mg/kg iv every 4 weeks either a)over a 1h infusion time for all administrations or b) a 1h infusion time for the first administration, followed by a 31 minute infusion time for subsequent administrations (unless drug-related infusion reactions occur). The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is <100 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00886769 Terminated - Clinical trials for Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

ß-SPECIFIC 1
Start date: July 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study assessed the initial efficacy and safety of canakinumab over a 4 week period in patients with systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SJIA) having a flare. Response to treatment will be according to the adapted American College of Rheumatology(ACR)Pediatric 30 criteria at Day 15.

NCT ID: NCT00884468 Completed - Psoriatic Arthritis Clinical Trials

Study Evaluating Anxiety and Depression in Patients With Psoriatic Arthritis

Start date: May 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This is an epidemiological non-interventional study assessing the prevalence of anxiety and/or depression disorders in patients suffering from Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) in Spain.

NCT ID: NCT00883896 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Study To Evaluate The Safety And Efficacy Of ILV-094 In Subjects With Rheumatoid Arthritis

Start date: June 18, 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of different dose regimens of ILV-094 compared with placebo, administered subcutaneously to subjects with active rheumatoid arthritis who are taking methotrexate.

NCT ID: NCT00883753 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

An Extension to Study MA21573, Evaluating Tocilizumab in Patients With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis and an Inadequate Response to Current Non-Biological DMARDs and/or Anti-tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) Therapy

Start date: March 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study was an extension to study MA21573 [NCT00750880], which was an open label single arm study to investigate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of tocilizumab monotherapy, or combination therapy with non-biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis. Patients who completed the 24 week core study, and had at least a moderate European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) response, were eligible to enter this long-term extension study, and received tocilizumab 8 mg/kg intravenous (iv) every 4 weeks. The anticipated time on study treatment was 1-2 years, and the target sample size was > 500 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00882024 Completed - Clinical trials for Active Rheumatoid Arthritis

Safety and Efficacy Study of Tranilast in Patients With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

Start date: March 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether tranilast at two different dosages compared to placebo is effective in patients with active RA when added to continuing methotrexate (MTX) therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00881881 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Study Evaluating the Clinical and Therapeutic Management of Rheumatoid Arthritis in Spain

Start date: December 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This is an epidemiological, multicenter, retrospective study to analyze the management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in usual clinical practice in Spain. Two groups of patients will be analyzed: individuals who have had RA for two years or less (the "early RA" group) and individuals who have had RA for more than 2 years and who currently meet the ACR criteria for RA (the "established RA" group).

NCT ID: NCT00872794 Terminated - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

A Single Centre Study to Assess the Long-term Performance of the DePuy ASR™ System in Primary Hip Resurfacing Surgery

Start date: November 2003
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to monitor the performance and determine the metal ion release of the DePuy ASR™ System in the treatment of patients with hip joint disease requiring hip resurfacing surgery. Patients who enter the study will be evaluated at regular intervals following hip surgery using patient, clinical and x-ray assessments. A subset of patients will also have blood samples taken at regular intervals to allow the metal ion levels to be determined and undergo scans to allow the bone mineral density of the bone surrounding the implant to be monitored. DePuy decided to close this Study in 4Q 2009. The Study was terminated with effect from November 2010 to allow for the completion of the 5 year follow up assessments. Please note that subsequent to this decision DePuy voluntarily recalled the ASR products on 24 August 2010. Additional information regarding this voluntary recall and the follow-up of patients affected by the recall can be found at the following links http://www.mhra.gov.uk/Publications/Safetywarnings/MedicalDeviceAlerts/CON079157 and http://www.depuy.com/countries_list.

NCT ID: NCT00872573 Terminated - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

A Two Centre Study to Assess the Stability and Long-term Performance of the C-Stem™ AMT in a Total Primary Hip Replacement

Start date: July 1, 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to monitor the stability of the C-Stem™ AMT hip within the thigh bone when used in the treatment of patients with hip joint disease requiring a total hip replacement. Patients who enter the study will be evaluated at regular intervals following hip surgery using patient, clinical, standard x-ray assessments and special x-rays which allow the stability of the implant to be determined.
