Filter by:1. Target population:locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma (LAGC, cT2~3/N+M0,or cT4aN+M0);no previous chemo or radio therapy. 2. Primary objective:Response rate of XELOX in the neoadjuvant setting of LAGC. Secondary objectives: - The progression free survival (PFS) in the perioperative treatment of locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma (cT3/N+M0,or cT4aN+M0); - percentage of pathological response ; percentage of grade 3 or 4 adverse events as safety profile of perioperative treatments; - D2 resection -rate after neoadjuvant chemotherapy of XELOX; - Overall survival; - QOL during the whole period of treatment. 3. Trial design:This is a multicenter, single arm, open-label, phase II study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Oxaliplatin plus capecitabine(XELOX) in the perioperative treatment of locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma in combination with D2 resection. 4. Treatment plan:Patients will be given the perioperative chemotherapy as below once recruited:Schedule of Oxaliplatin plus capecitabine (XELOX) will be as follow: Capecitabine 1000 mg/m2 ,bid,d 1~14 every 3 weeks(treatment for 2 weeks and rest 1 week)Oxaliplatin:130mg/m2, iv infusion over 2h,d1,every 3 weeks. 5. Number of subjects:50 patients.Number of centers 5 sites, which have the high volume of gastric operations in China, more than 500 per year.
The goal of the POUDER trial is to determine the feasibility of a randomized controlled trial regarding the application of freeze-dried broccoli sprouts rich in sulforaphane and quercetin in patients with advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma that receive palliative chemotherapy.
This is an exploratory, single-armed, open label study on the efficacy and safety of sequential S-1 therapy after SOX in unresectable metastatic or locally advanced biliary system or periampullary cancer or pancreatic cancer patients. The primary endpoint is Objective response rate and secondary endpoint is progression free survival , overall survival ,1 year survival rate and safety.
To confirm the efficacy and safety of XELOX with capecitabine maintenance in treatment of elderly advanced gastric cancer (AGC) by comparing it with that of XELOX regimen.
The objective of the study is comparison of the efficacy and safety of palliative therapy with single-dose brachytherapy or selfexpanding metal stents (SEMS) in malignant dysphagia resulting from adenocarcinoma of the esophago-gastric junction.
The ultimate goal of the Barrett's Esophagus Patient Registry is to help develop more effective targeted screening strategies and treatment options for Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC). We plan to do by developing a registry that will serve as a platform. Examples of analyses could include identifying genetic determinants and biomarkers that predict BE, progression of BE to EAC, as well as the response to therapies.
Lung Cancer continues to be the major cause of cancer-related mortality in Singapore. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for 75% of lung cancers and adenocarcinoma is the most common histological subtype. Although cigarette-smoking is the main cause of lung cancer, more than a third afflicted in Singapore are never-smokers and 69% affect females. For the majority who present with advanced NSCLC, chemotherapy is the mainstay of treatment. Despite advances made with newer chemotherapeutic agents, it is apparent that the benefit of conventional chemotherapy has plateaued. Efforts toward developing novel treatments based on growing understanding of molecular oncology have yielded drugs that target vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). They have expanded treatment options for patients with advanced NSCLC. However, monoclonal antibody to VEGF is contraindicated in patients with squamous cell carcinoma due to increased incidence of fatal hemoptysis. EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKI) appear promising but only 40% of east-asian female never-smokers with lung adenocarcinoma harbour EGFR gene mutations. Estrogen, KRAS, BRAF, ERBE and other genetic mutations can confound response. Molecular data obtained from Caucasian and predominantly east-asian population may not apply to our multi-ethnic groups and our aim is to determine the molecular characteristics of our multi-ethnic asian phenotypes to better understand the process of carcinogenesis and treatment response as well as identify potential novel targets for future drug development. Paraffin-embedded tissues are recalled, and DNA is extracted for mutational analysis, which will be correlated to patient demographics, treatment and outcome.
The ADCI 002 trial is a large multicenter phase II-III prospective randomized controlled trial comparing primary surgery versus primary chemotherapy followed by surgery in patients with a resectable signet ring cell gastric adenocarcinoma
This is a study that compares two types of surgery for rectal cancer. There are two procedures that can be used during this surgery, conventional abdominal resection (APR) and extended (or extralevator) APR. The investigators are doing this research to see whether the extralevator APR increases the likelihood that the edge of the tissue that is removed will be more likely to be free from cancer cells compared with the conventional APR surgery. At this time there is no evidence that one type of procedure is better at this than the other. The objective of this research is to determine whether extralevator APR is more likely to have clean margins (free of cancer) compared to the standard APR surgery.
The purpose of this study is to find out more about differences of the quality of life in patients undergoing total gastrectomy or proximal gastrectomy for adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction. To find a better reconstruction for patients who received total gastrectomy.
