Filter by:The study will conduct with 4 comparative groups orally treated with YHD001 dose level 1(t.i.d.), YHD001 dose level 2(t.i.d.), pelargonium sidoides extract 9mL(t.i.d.) or Placebo for 7 days. The treatments will be assigned randomly to patients (n=116) with acute or chronic bronchitis.
This is a phase I study of the investigational drug AC220 combined with cytarabine and etoposide in pediatric patients with relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myelogenous leukemia (AML).
The purpose of this study is to test a new preventive and restorative intervention for patients with acute leukaemia undergoing consolidation chemotherapy, to measure and delineate the patients' treatment related symptom burden and to explore the effect of the intervention on length of hospital stay, duration of sick leave and return to work status. Further, to examine the relationship of the symptom profile with clinical indicators, physiological response, physical performance and survival.
Study Hypothesis. combination chemotherapy with Clofarabine VP16 and Cyclophosphamide is able to induce remission in resistant/refractory acute leukemias in pediatric. Forty children with relapsed or refractory Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) or Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) entered the study and received the association of clofarabine (40 mg/m2/day) in combination with etoposide (100 mg/m2/day) and Cyclophosphamide (440 mg/m2/day) in 1 or 2 induction cycles End point were complete remission (CR)or CR without platelet recovery (CRp) and toxicity
Patients with active acute leukemia have dismal prognoses even with allogeneic transplantation.Thus,new measures to enhance graft versus leukemia effect and reduce relapse rates are needed. Relapse risk after double umbilical cord transplantations have been shown to be significantly lower compared to matched sibling and matched unrelated donor transplantations due to better graft versus leukemia effect. The investigators hypothesize, that concomitant transplantation from 2 matched siblings may improve GVL effect and reduce relapse rate in patients with high risk acute leukemias and other high risk hematological malignancies.

This randomized phase III trial studies how well levofloxacin works in preventing infection in young patients with acute leukemia receiving chemotherapy or undergoing stem cell transplant. Giving antibiotics may be effective in preventing or controlling early infection in patients receiving chemotherapy or undergoing stem cell transplant for acute leukemia. It is not yet known whether levofloxacin is effective in preventing infection.
This study is for patients with relapsed or refractory Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), Hodgkin's Disease (HD) or Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL). Panobinostat is a new drug that is considered investigational because it has not been approved in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or in any other country. Panobinostat is a histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACi) and interferes with gene expression found in cells causing them to stop growing or die. Panobinostat has been used in several hundred adults who had leukemia, HD, NHL and other solid tumors. Panobinostat has not been given to children. This is a phase I study. In a phase I study, drugs are tested to the highest dose that can be safely given. Drugs are given at gradually increasing dosages until there are unacceptable side effects. The goal of the Phase I study is to find out the dose of panobinostat that can be safely given to children with relapsed ALL, AML, HD and NHL.
In this Phase I study, we will test the safety of the drug plerixafor (MOBOZIL) at different dose levels, used together with other anti-cancer drugs—cytarabine and etoposide. We want to find out what effects, good and /or bad, this combination of drugs has on leukemia. Plerixafor is a drug that blocks a receptor on the leukemia cell, which prevents it from staying in the bone marrow where it can be resistant to chemotherapy. Plerixafor is FDA approved for mobilizing stem cells from the bone marrow in preparation for an autologous stem cell transplant. Cytarabine and etoposide have been used as part of standard chemotherapy for ALL and AML. However, the use of plerixafor with cytarabine and etoposide in pediatric patients with relapsed or refractory ALL, AML and MDS is considered experimental.
