Filter by:Rink hockey teams from senior category (adults) will be recruited to implement a groin injury prevention program consisting on the Copenhagen Adduction Exercise (CAE) throughout the regular season, 0 times, once or twice per week (september 2023-march 2024) Weekly team exposure to training sessions and games will be collected as well as cases of groin problems in the entire population When the season ends, the number of groin problems will be compared between teams that used the prevention program once a week against twice a week or no sessions a week.
Treatment of disorders such as gastrointestinal tract (GI) perforation, ischemia and obstruction often require acute high-risk abdominal surgery, which is associated with a high risk of complications such as myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery (MINS) and mortality. The majority of patients with MINS will not experience any symptoms, and thus MINS remains undetected without routine troponin measurements. The investigators hypothesized that implementing surveillance with troponin I as a standard care might be useful as risk stratification, and that increased surveillance, examinations, and subsequent individually based medical interventions, might improve the outcomes for patients with MINS.
In this study, a total of 69 Wistar Albino rats were used, five of which were in the preliminary study. The preliminary study was planned to determine the ideal PEMF treatment time. In the study, animals were divided into 5 groups (Control, INJ, INJ+Exercise, INJ+PEMF, INJ+Exercise+PEMF). Experimental animals were sacrificed on the 7th and 14th days to see the effects of the treatments. At the end of the experiment, genetic, histopathological, and immunohistochemical evaluations were made in the muscle tissue.

Diagnosis of pancreas injury is not easy at first consult. It's a retrospective study, in children under 15 years and 3months, between January 1st 2010 to August 31th 2019, to prove that the first level of lipase is correlated with the severity of pancreatic injury. Every children with elevated serum lipase after trauma during those years will be selected. The children with pancreatic tumors will be excluded. American Association of Surgeon Trauma (AAST) classification of pancreas injury will be used to grade severity. Children will be divided in two groups : one including pancreatic lesion with duct injury and one without duct injury. Data will include mechanism of injury, associated injury, length of stay, maximal lipase level, nutritional care and local complications will be noted.
Shoulder pain is the most common musculoskeletal problem after spine and knee complaints. Rotator cuff injuries (RCI) are the most common cause of shoulder pain. RCI includes a wide spectrum from subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS) to chronic tendinopathy, partial and total ruptures of the rotator cuff. In recent years there has been a renewed interest in traditional and complementary medicine (TCM) for various musculoskeletal problems. Cupping therapy, which is one of the most commonly used TCM methods, is one of the oldest medical applications with thousands of years of history. Although it is thought to be effective in many diseases, there are not enough studies in the literature about its effectiveness and mechanism of action. Our aim in this study is to investigate the effects of moving dry cupping therapy on pain, range of motion (ROM), functionality and quality of life in RCI.
The prediction of the final neurological and functional status of patients with acquired brain injury remains very uncertain despite the findings of current medicine. The aim of the study is to evaluate the clinical outcomes in patients with the most severe degree of brain injury hospitalized in the long-term intensive care unit of the Military University Hospital Prague.
This study explored the incidence of morbidity and mortality associated with AKI in critically ill adult patients infected with COVID-19. There are two groups for comparison. Group1. patients were directly admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) from the emergency department (ED) Group 2. patients were initially managed on the medical floor and later transferred to the ICU for worsening respiratory status. The investigating team evaluated the correlation of inflammatory markers and common risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension and ethnicity to the development of AKI in the target population. The primary outcome is mortality participants will received their regular healthcare in a medical setting
This study is designed to see different abdominal incisions complication among neonates, infants and children and to find risk factors for developing wound dehiscence
A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is among the most frequent reasons for neurological impairment in young people. The investigators investigated whether vitamin B12 vs B3 therapy could reduce the severity of traumatic brain injury (TBI) due to their positive effects on axon regrowth following nerve damage. The method utilized was a series of non-random samples. With a 95% confidence interval and a 5% margin of error, a total sample of 300 patients was estimated using Epi Info. Participants in our study comprised both boys and girls with severe TBI ages 6 to 15 years old. Two groups of 300 children were recruited. B3 (16 mg/day) was administered to group 1 and B12 (125-250 mcg/day) was provided to group 2. It is evaluated through follow-ups on a range of tests to evaluate cognitive capacity, sensorimotor activity and staircase test (working and reference memory). Pre-and post-treatment GCS measurements were conducted. Three weeks and a year following the treatment of TBI, children underwent neurobehavioral testing. The measurement of gait analysis was done. The standard error and mean of statistically examined data were shown by paired t-test.
