Filter by:Papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC), defined as a tumor with larger diameter ≤ 1 cm, is considered a tumor with an indolent course and an excellent prognosis. Nevertheless, the incidence of lymph node metastasis in PTMC is not negligible, reaching up to 65% in some series. The aim of this study was to assess the incidence of lymph node metastasis in patients with PTMC and to evaluate predictive factors for lymph node metastasis.
One prospective observational study was carried out in 2009 aiming at identifying the fluctuations of the thyroid hormones in women with normal thyroid gland and in women with anti-TPO antibodies. Serum samples were collected periodically during and after pregnancy in previously infertile women. The samples were stored frozen at -80 °C. Now, the hormone measurements will be carried out.
Natural thyroid function changes during pregnancy. In up to tens of percent of pregnant women, these changes can lead to pathological fluctuations in hormone and antibody production. Although the effects on pregnancy and child development are well described, none has determined their influence on mother's emotional well-being and the quality of life. At present, universal thyroid screening in pregnancy in the Czech Republic is not covered by health insurance. The aim of the project is to change this situation by providing quality of life estimate for the cost-effectiveness model. This is a project of three specialized institutions aimed at mapping various aspects of the quality of life of pregnant women and describing the impact of thyroid disease on their lives. The project is a parallel study to a larger project Early screening for thyreopathy in pregnancy (CZ.03.2.63/0.0/0.0/15_039/0009643) supported by the European Fund Operational Programme Employment through the National screening centre. The data will be collected through online questionnaire from women enrolled in the Early screening for thyreopathy in pregnancy (CZ.03.2.63/0.0/0.0/15_039/0009643) who were screened for TSH, TPOAb and FT4.
Phase I/II Clinical Trial of Dose-tolerance, Pharmacokinetics and Iodine Uptake Effects For Recombinant Human Thyroid Stimulating Hormone In Post-thyroidectomized Patients
This study will evaluate the safe and effective dose conversion from levothyroxine (synthetic T4) therapy to Armour Thyroid therapy in participants who are on a stable dose of levothyroxine and have thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels within the normal reference range.
In this study, the investigators detected the expression of SREBP1 in thyroid cancer tissues, explored the biological functions of SREBP1 in thyroid cancer cells.
The aim of the study: To assess the influence of iontophoresis treatment with 2% potassium iodide on the level of thyroid hormones (TSH, FT3, FT4) The study group: conducting 10 iontophoresis treatments with Potassium iodide; The control group: conducting 10 placebo treatments with iontophoresis with destilled water; Intervention: 10 iontophoresis treatments with 2% potassium iodide in healthy individuals. Test the level of thyroid hormones before and after the 10 iontophoresis treatments; The study allows to assess the influence of iodine on the function of thuroid gland.
Autoimmune thyroid disease revealed close relationship with heart failure, including the entities of subclinical hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Heart failure is a principal complication of all forms of heart disease. The American College of Cardiology defines HF as a complex clinical syndrome that impairs the ability of the ventricle to fill with or inject blood. In fact, it may be caused by a defect in myocardial contraction, by an impairment in ventricular filling with preserved systolic function ('diastolic HF') or by a combination of both. Earlier detection of probable trend of heart failure in subclinical thyroid diseases is very important in not only Taiwan, Pan-Asia, but all over the aging world. However, it is not currently available. The investigators will enroll 20 patients with subclinical hyperthyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, and collect their urine specimens in outpatient clinic per year. Prognostic biological markers via this prospective study. The study was designed as prospective pattern, and the investigators will enroll clinical and subclinical thyroid disease with quarterly follow-up, then detect urine exosomal proteins NT-proBNP. The investigators try to find the correlation of outcome with unknown/fresh biomarkers in this study with time-dependent manner. The investigators hope to find earlier predicting biomarkers for heart dysfunction in autoimmune thyroid disease.
This study aims to develop a standardized universal imaging protocol for ICG-guided fluorescent total thyroidectomy, including quantitative evaluations of the fluorescent signal. Therefore, patients will undergo thyroid surgery (total thyroidectomy) with the use of ICG fluorescence.
To investigate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of 99Tc-MDP in comparison to Methylprednisolone, in the treatment of participants suffering from active moderate to severe TAO.
