Prospective, Double Arm, Comparative Study for the Evaluation of Postoperative Pain, QOL, and Determination of Inflammatory Markers In Patients Undergoing Robotics Versus Open Laparotomy Approach for Staging of Endometrial Cancer
This study is being done to evaluate the efficacy of robotic approach for staging of endometrial cancer as compared to an equivalent abdominal approach. The primary objective is to measure and compare postoperative pain at rest at several time points between two groups of patients undergoing either robotic or open laparotomy approach for staging of endometrial cancer.

A Phase III, Open Label, Randomized, 2 Arm Study of Ixabepilone Administered Every 21 Days Versus Paclitaxel or Doxorubicin Administered Every 21 Days in Women With Advanced Endometrial Cancer Who Have Previously Been Treated With Chemotherapy

A Phase II Trial of a Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) Monoclonal Antibody, AVASTIN, in Combination With Cytotoxic Chemotherapy CARBOPLATIN and PACLITAXEL for Recurrent/Advanced Endometrial Cancer
The purpose of this study is to find out whether the addition of a drug called Avastin (avastin) to the two-drug combination of carboplatin and paclitaxel shrinks tumors better than the two-drug combination alone in the treatment of endometrial cancer. Avastin is a humanized monoclonal antibody (a type of protein that is normally made by the immune system to help defend the body from infection and cancer) produced by Genentech, Inc. Avastin is an antibody directed against vascular endothelial growth factor, or VEGF. VEGF is a potent, specific growth factor with a well defined role in normal and abnormal blood vessel formation. It is present in a wide variety of normal tissues, but is produced in excess by most solid cancers (tumors). In the setting of cancer, VEGF promotes the growth of blood vessels that feed the tumor cells.

A Phase II Study of the Levonorgestrel Intrauterine Device (Mirena) to Treat Complex Atypical Hyperplasia and Grade 1 Endometrioid Endometrial Carcinoma
This phase II trial studies how well levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system works in treating patients with complex atypical hyperplasia or grade I endometrial cancer. High levels of estrogen can cause the growth of endometrial cancer cells. Progesterone can help balance the amount of estrogen present. Hormone therapy using levonorgestrel, a type of progesterone, may fight endometrial cancer by helping regulate hormone levels.

Follow-up After Primary Therapy for Endometrial Cancer; Implementation of a Cancer Care Ontario Guideline: A Pilot Evaluation Study.
The purposes of this study are to examine the needs (symptoms, support, information) and satisfaction of women during follow-up in the community after completing treatment for endometrial cancer. This information will be collected from the perspective of the women themselves, their primary care providers (family physician or gynecologist) and the health care providers (oncologist, nurses, social worker, psychologist) at the cancer centre.

A Phase II Evaluation of Combination Bevacizumab (NCI-Supplied Agent: NSC #70486) and Temsirolimus (CCI-779, NCI-Supplied Agent, NSC #683864) in the Treatment of Recurrent or Persistent Endometrial Carcinoma
This phase II trial is studying the side effects of giving bevacizumab together with temsirolimus and to see how well it works in treating patients with recurrent or persistent endometrial cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Temsirolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for their growth. Giving bevacizumab together with temsirolimus may kill more tumor cells.
